The DCF BC 9x32 Binocular from Pentax is waterproof to the point where they can be rinsed clean with fresh water. They are nitrogen filled, insuring a fog free viewing. The open-bridge architecture provides a light-weight, firm, and comfortable hold. Rubber housing with slight indentations for the thumbs helps stabilize and ease the fatigue of long viewing sessions.

Optically these binoculars are silver deposited on their auxiliary prisms for decreased internal light loss while the roof prisms are phase coated ensuring a high contrast, high resolution viewing experience. They are fully multicoated so that all the lens elements have multiple layers on all the air to glass surfaces for a brighter, higher-contrast image with less eyestrain.

The element movement for focusing takes place internally improving the fogproofing and waterproofing sealing. The housing, a compact under 4 1/2 inches square, is fully rubber coated adding protection to the binocular from bumps and bruises. A diopter ring and helicoids eyepieces with 5 click stops permits customization for those who do or do not wear sun/eyeglasses.

Comments about Pentax DCF BC 9x32 Binocular:

I found this model on a site that reviewed binoculars for nothing but safari use. They are perfect because they're lightweight and small yet powerful enough to give you the view you need. I just returned from my trip, and these were great - not so heavy, so I didn't mind carrying them everywhere.

      Good Travel Binocular

      By Bill

      from New England

Comments about Pentax DCF BC 9x32 Binocular:

Bought this to use on trips. Good size and weight. I wanted a pair between 8 and 10 power with good quality but that wouldn't break the bank.. This set seems to be a good compromise. I haven't had them long but have been pleaed so far with them. For their size they offer a good field of view and images appear clear. The set feels comfortable to hold and focusing adjustments are smooth. The only cons so far are that the strap seems pretty skimpy and the objective lens cover needs a better way to secure it to avoid losing it.

Comments about Pentax DCF BC 9x32 Binocular:

These are great binoculars. I was looking for lightweight, high quality binoculars for concerts, both indoor and outdoor. I needed something that would work well in both broad daylight and low-light environments. Having field-tested them now at several events this summer, these binocs certainly meet the standard. The clarity and brightness are excellent. The are easy to hold, adjust quickly to each user's eye and feel good in the hand. I like the open-bridge design.

My only minor concern: the covers for the lens are a little awkward at times and tend to come off too easily.

The case and and strap are stylish and functional.

FYI: B&H had the best price for this excellent product - making it all that much easier to continue to be a loyal shopper.

Comments about Pentax DCF BC 9x32 Binocular:

I brought this binocular in May. It's a light weighted binocular with good optical quality. Good for safari or travel. focus knob works great but focusing is slower than average. The image quailty is good but it can not identify small object in front of complex background. Overall it's a good binocular for traveling but not so good for birding.

Comments about Pentax DCF BC 9x32 Binocular:

Fantastic example of money for value product. They have been great for whale and bird watching of the coast. The light weight smaller construction of the Pentax DCF BC 9x32 binoculars is a big plus when using them over a reasonable length of time without any form of support. The view is picture sharp with excellent natural colour and brightness. The second pair I purchased has gone on to our house boat and looking forward to using them this summer and for many more.

Comments about Pentax DCF BC 9x32 Binocular:

Very nice, lightweight, with good optics. It is a little larger and heavier than I expected, but still very lightweight and compact. Easy to adjust eyepieces and excellent focus. Exterior coating is just rough enough to make holding feel secure. Neckstrap is narrow and unpadded, so I may have to purchase a more comfortable strap.
