The black Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack from Lowepro is a lightweight pack designed for heavyweight outdoor action and manufactured to handle a rugged trail race, mountain bike outing or photo trek up a local peak. Made from triple rip stop nylon, the Photo Sport 200 not only holds your DSLR with attached lens, but a flash as well in its dedicated Ultra-Cinch Camera Chamber side-access pocket. This Chamber compliments the dual compartment approach to the pack that permits you to carry both clothes, food and camera gear.

The Photo Sport 200 can instantly become a shooter's pack. Quickly rotate pack to the front, unzip the pocket, access your camera that is stored in shooting position, pull it out, get the shot, stuff it back inside and you're back on the trail ready to tackle the next pitch. For the hiking part, multiple attachment points on the pack permit you to secure everything from ski poles to jackets, hats, cell phones, keys or a decent-sized pack of trail mix to keep you going.

Adjustable shoulder straps and a padded waist belt keep it squarely on your back while a molded back pad offers more than sufficient airflow to keep you cool and comfortable on the trail. The water-resistant 70D nylon exterior keeps your contents dry but in case you get caught in a rain or snow squall, simply deploy the built-in rain fly that will encase the pack for even more protection. If you're a night person, you'll find reflective piping on the pack so you'll be able to be seen on the trail or road.

Additional front and side storage pockets will hold your maps, water bottles, gloves - whatever support gear you have. And speaking of water, there is also a hydration pocket that can hold an optional reservoir so you'll never have to worry about being thirsty on the trail. Backed by Lowepro's limited lifetime warranty, the Photo Sport 200 AW is well-named since it allows you to get out there on the trail to get the "photo", while also allowing you to engage in the serious pursuit of "sport".

    I have fallen in love.

After 10 days exploring the vast beaches, deep jungles, and confusingly dry rain forests of Costa Rica, I have fallen in love.

This bag is the perfect fit for any day adventure. Enough space for a swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen for the beach. Or bug spray, a change of clothes and a packed lunch for two while hiking a dormant volcano.

After a 6 hour hike and a few hour ATV ride I still felt like I didn't have anything on my back. My T4i camera and extra zoom lens was always dry, protected, and even invisible to the everyday thief with it's stealth ability to look like any old day pack. It even dooped a careful TSA agent.

I only wish it was wider to fit my 15 inch MacBook Pro.

    But, you can't have everything.

This is the perfect backpack for day hikes or for lugging gear through the city. The side zip pouch has ample room for my Canon 5D Mark III and the 24-70L lens AND my 16-35L wide angle lens. It can accommodate my 70-200L in the back as well as tripod head, flash, and other accessories. It has a pocket on the other side that I can carry my tripod in that balance the weight of the camera nicely. It also has room for a 3L hydration pouch in a separate compartment. I can even slide an ipad in the outside pouch. I would give the bag 5 stars for functionality and flexibility.
However, after just 3 trips, the main loop handle at the top of the bag has broken loose as has the elastic loop at the top/side of the bag. Perhaps it is the heavy load that I ask the bag to carry or perhaps I just got a lemon. Either way, I love the bag and hope they make one a little bit more durable so that it can handle a heavier load.

Comments about Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack (Orange):

Really like this backpack, it fits my 5d mark iii with no problem but there isn't much room for anything else in the camera compartment. I plan to put my 70-200 2.8 in the upper storage part in its own padded case and I think it will work out fine. I also will strap my tripod to the outside somehow. Really like the quality and look of the backpack and look forward to using it on our trip to Alaska! There are many adjustments which you can customize to fit your body. Zippers zip very nicely.

... to pack my Nikon D800E, a couple of lenses, lunch and take off for the day. This is the second attempt of getting the right day pack and it is all I wanted and expected. My camera has an L bracket but still fits nicely in it's designated place. There is room for another smaller lens or flash in same area. I plan on putting 70-200 in it's Nikon case in the upper compartment when needed. My cell phone fits in belt pocket and so will extra battery and cards. Quality looks exceptional. I'm 5'2"and can adjust straps to fit well.

I bought this to use for day hikes in the mountains. It holds my D7000 with an 18-270 lens attached with room for my 50mm or a flash. The top pocket is sufficient for lunch and a light jacket and binoculars. The space for a water reservoir easily holds a 2.0l camelbak.

I have put this bag to the test, taking it climbing in the Colorado Rockies, and getting caught in heavy rain storm, and its great. Its perfect for holding a camera and an extra lens. The top compartment is big enough to hold a few extra clothes layers and food. Even in heavy rain and hail it kept all my gear nice and dry.

Fits nice in the middle of the back. Not top heavy so easy to move around with a full pack. Bigger than the 100 AW but still not capable of carrying, say, a 100-400 attached to a body easily. I carry this type of lens in the top.

Well made and should handle wear & tear.

Overall glad I went with this bigger 200 AW pack as there is enough room to carry other trail type items. Haven't tried it yet on a bicycle but imagine it would be ideal.

I utilized this pack as a basic daypack hiking up some Vermont mountains. It has just enough space to carry some food, walking poles, water, and of course my Olympus E-PM2 and equipment. I then used this pack to travel to NYC and it was the perfect size. Not too big, not too small, not too heavy, not too light. I am highly pleased with my purchase! The one suggestion I would have is to possibly add a laptop compartment (maybe where the 2L water bladder compartment is). Other than that, I must admit that I love this bag. I am a 5'9" male at 165 lbs, athletic build. So if you are near my size and are looking for a daypack, this one will not disappoint.

Comments about Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack (Orange):

This is a fantastic daypack and camerabag. I spent a long time looking for a good pack to purchase for day excursions into the woods or on mountain bike rides... anywhere. The camera is easily accessible at all times from the side, and there's enough room in the top portion to pack anything you would need for the day. I'm actually considering packing it with clothing and basic supplies for a trip to Vietnam. I figure it can't be any more difficult than living out of a pannier, right? It could be slightly larger... but no big deal. Note: My laptop will not fit inside. An iPad or Windows tablet, yes, but not a laptop. Too thick and wide.

Comments about Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack (Black):

This pack is perfect for day hiking. It has a camel back pocket and aluminum spine. The aluminum spine contours to your back and lower straps evenly distributes the camera load to your back. The camera pocket was well thought out giving you easy access to the camera in tight spots while still on one shoulder. The accessory pockets hold enough extra gear and also accommodate food. I also like the inside clip that allow the camera card pocket to clip to. They have also build in a convenient rain cover in the bottom of the pack in case of rain, which I have used and it did keep all of my gear dry. There is a side well also with clips to store a tripod and other things like a water bottle. The straps are comfortable and have leads for your camel back water lines. I also used this pack while snowboarding and it fits well for these type of activity. The pack is stream lined to not restrict arm movement. I can snowboard with out restrictions to my normal movements. I have also fallen on this pack while snowboarding and my camera wasn't damaged. I recommend this pack highly to anyone who does the described above. Eric Fitzgerald

This bag will work great for long family hikes with lots of room for snacks and or extra clothes. It fits my Nikon D7000 with kit lens perfectly. It has room for one more lens in the padded camera compartment. It has lots of ways to hang a tripod on. However it will not fit a battery grip on the camera. It will also not fit a large telephoto lens. Great starter bag at a great price but easily outgrown.

Great bag for those with one camera body; not too small, not too big. Lots of room for storage.

I have 3 other packs and I was looking for a light but sturdy pack. As I hike and do photography at high elevations in the Sierras I was looking for a pack that incorporated the latest materials and this pack has it all. The camera part holds my nikon with a 300mm zoom lens along with my 18 to 140mm securely. There is plenty of room for a jacket and accessories in the center compartment. It also has a rain cover that is part of the pack and will come in handy when the afternoon showers happen. It is convenient and easily accessible. I have secured my tripod to the bottom with the quick release clips and it held quite securely without a lot of bouncing around.
The pack is comfortable with good padding on the shoulder and waist straps. There is a special compartment for a camelback water system but since I prefer the old fashioned water bottle on the side pocket I use this compartment for my ipad. The side pocket is a generous size so you won't be dropping things along the trail. I am a 5'4" woman and the pack fits perfectly.

Very happy with this purchase. I wanted a good bag to take my camera with a 50mm and two lenses. One was stored and another I wrapped in a soft scarf just for the flight. Overall great bag to hold everything you need. The two support straps really helped while I was climbing sand dunes in the west and I had easy access to my equipment at all time while it was secure for travel. High recommend!

Comments about Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack (Orange):

Used it to travel via airplane to a cruise ship, and took this backpack day-tripping.

We had unexpected rain on multiple days, and the included rain jacket was greatly appreciated - and to think I just about took it out to "save weight"! Kept everything dry and was easy to put on and take off.

This was COMFORTABLE. I'm female, big shoulders, little chest. I wore this with a spaghetti strap tank all day, and had no problems. No chafing (which can happen with cheap bags when not wearing sleeves), and it was comfortable the whole time. Not too hot, but not as cool as it could have been.

Great access to my camera (Nikon D5200, 18-55 lens) and my spare lens (Nikon 55-300). Nice inside pocket for spare batteries, cards, filters, etc. Also would have been space INSIDE the camera compartment, but I didn't want anything to fall out. This bag has a SIDE access, so you can swing it down from one shoulder to access your camera without taking the bag completely off or putting it down (a definite positive for me).

I wore this WITH a Black Rapid sport strap underneath. It worked quite well. Required a BIT of juggling to get the backpack and strap worked out, but once I did, it was comfortable to wear both at once.

Only downsides were that the bag isn't tiny - it's definitely a full size backpack. BUT - you don't have the cargo room of a full size backpack! You have enough room for your camera, a spare lens, spare cards, batteries and filters, a wallet, a towel, your bathing suit, and your sunglasses. And your ipad fits quite perfectly in the front pocket (if you're not worried about someone stealing it). Then it starts to get crowded and heavy.

As mentioned by others, the waist strap could be more "significant". It works, it DOES take the weight off, but it would be nicer if it was wider for more of the length. I didn't find it necessary for most of the time - just when I started to get tired.

Overall, great bag, I'm very happy with it.

Comments about Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack (Orange):

I bought this bag because I was going on a 5-day guided hike, walking up to 13.5 miles in a single day. It worked really well for me, and I did not notice any discomfort while on the hike. For reference, I am 5'1 and 95 pounds, and the pack fit me very comfortably. (I've noticed that there are other reviewers who are at least 6' who are pleased with this pack as well, so I guess it really can be used by anyone.) There was enough space for me to fit everything I needed. I brought my Nikon D3200, a 18-55 kit lens, a 35 mm prime, and a 55-200 mm zoom lens. All that fit into the camera pouch, along with my charger, a bunch of ziplock bags, an extra battery, and some filters. I am not sure if the upper compartment would have been big enough if we weren't on a guided tour, since I'm not sure whether I would have been able to fit a full 5 days worth of camping gear. However, I think it would work very well for a weekend trip.

When it rained, the hip clasps became looser, I guess because the material stretched out while wet, and I could not pull it any tighter (I am small!). However, the weight still remained pretty well distributed on my hips, even though I couldn't pull the straps any tighter.

This bag is extremely functional and easy to use. I love that the camera area is on the side, because you do not need to take your backpack off in order to access the camera. It lasted very well in extremely rainy weather, and overall is a great bag. My only wish is that the compartment that holds the camera were removable. At first glance it looks as if it could be removed, but it is actually sewn into the bag.

I like how it has difference compartments and also that the camera feels lighter when caring in a bag like this, although they don't have specific compartments for cards. Nice the waterproof cover!
