The orange Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack from Lowepro is a lightweight pack designed for heavyweight outdoor action and manufactured to handle a rugged trail race, mountain bike outing or photo trek up a local peak. Made from triple rip stop nylon, the Photo Sport 200 not only holds your DSLR with attached lens, but a flash as well in its dedicated Ultra-Cinch Camera Chamber side-access pocket. This Chamber compliments the dual compartment approach to the pack that permits you to carry both clothes, food and camera gear.

The Photo Sport 200 can instantly become a shooter's pack. Quickly rotate pack to the front, unzip the pocket, access your camera that is stored in shooting position, pull it out, get the shot, stuff it back inside and you're back on the trail ready to tackle the next pitch. For the hiking part, multiple attachment points on the pack permit you to secure everything from ski poles to jackets, hats, cell phones, keys or a decent-sized pack of trail mix to keep you going.

Adjustable shoulder straps and a padded waist belt keep it squarely on your back while a molded back pad offers more than sufficient airflow to keep you cool and comfortable on the trail. The water-resistant 70D nylon exterior keeps your contents dry but in case you get caught in a rain or snow squall, simply deploy the built-in rain fly that will encase the pack for even more protection. If you're a night person, you'll find reflective piping on the pack so you'll be able to be seen on the trail or road.

Additional front and side storage pockets will hold your maps, water bottles, gloves - whatever support gear you have. And speaking of water, there is also a hydration pocket that can hold an optional reservoir so you'll never have to worry about being thirsty on the trail. Backed by Lowepro's limited lifetime warranty, the Photo Sport 200 AW is well-named since it allows you to get out there on the trail to get the "photo", while also allowing you to engage in the serious pursuit of "sport".

It's a nice daypack for a man or someone with a large torso. For me, being only 5'3", this bag is way too long. It is uncomfortable to hike with, especially loaded down with everything needed for an all-day shoot in the forest. I'm going to let my husband decide if he wants this one and find one a little shorter. 5 stars for having a compartment for everything, as well as for make and materials! If it fits you, you'll be quite happy with it!

This is the perfect backpack for day hikes or for lugging gear through the city. The side zip pouch has ample room for my Canon 5D Mark III and the 24-70L lens AND my 16-35L wide angle lens. It can accommodate my 70-200L in the back as well as tripod head, flash, and other accessories. It has a pocket on the other side that I can carry my tripod in that balance the weight of the camera nicely. It also has room for a 3L hydration pouch in a separate compartment. I can even slide an ipad in the outside pouch. I would give the bag 5 stars for functionality and flexibility.
However, after just 3 trips, the main loop handle at the top of the bag has broken loose as has the elastic loop at the top/side of the bag. Perhaps it is the heavy load that I ask the bag to carry or perhaps I just got a lemon. Either way, I love the bag and hope they make one a little bit more durable so that it can handle a heavier load.

Comments about Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack (Black):

This pack has all the bells and whistles of a hiking day pack, with the added benefit of carrying a camera with lens, and an additional telephoto lens. It also allows for a tripod to be strapped on as well. Its very lightweight and the best system I have come across to make carrying my camera and equipment on the trail comfortable and not a drag.

Comments about Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack (Orange):

I have been wanting to purchase this for a while and finally did. I couldn't be happier. It transported my Olympus OMD EM1 camera and 2 additional lenses in the camera compartment without difficulty although I would love one more divider and a little more velcro to be able to customize it further. The top held all of my day gear (jacket/snacks/small bag with additional camera gear - filters/extra battery/SD card etc)as well as my tablet.
The best part turned out to be the attached rain cover since on the first day of my trip, it absolutely poured. Everything stayed dry and the camera was still easy to access by just pulling the cover aside (while under an umbrella).
As I had read in a previous review, the straps did curl slightly but since I will not be carrying heavy loads, it does not seem to be a problem for me.
The only thing I would change: It would be nice to have a small zipper compartment under the lid of the side access panel for battery/SD card/lens cleaning supplies.

I use this pack for 1-2 day trips, where I pack my camera and 3 lenses in the side-accessible compartment, my clothes in the draw-string compartment, a iPad or laptop in back designated pouch. The hip support has a fanny pack for small things like lens covers and gloves. One comment: I wished the outside mach pocket had a draw string to keep things intact. Otherwise.. love this backpack.

            Camera Pack for outdoor enthusiasts.

Comments about Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack (Black):

Lightweight and functional backpack. And that is what makes me love this product. It isn't a camera bag with shoulder straps. The Lowepro Photosport 200 AW is a great backpack first. And it happens to hold my camera gear too. Super lightweight, well thought out, and comfortable during strenuous outdor activity (backcountry skiing). Holds the essential camera gear i need and room for my gear for a day out ski touring. Room for a hydration bladder is a nice touch. If you take your time outdoors seriously, you'll love this pack.

Lowepro Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack

            By YankeeNG

            from Chattanooga, TN

Comments about Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack (Orange):

I am very pleased with the Lowepro Photo Sport 200. I was looking for a backpack that could securely carry my Nikon 5300 mounted with a Tamron 18-270 lens as well as clothing items suitable for changing weather conditions during day hikes. Since I am mostly a walk-around photographer, I carry one camera, mounted with one lens. The Photo Sport 200's camera compartment and additional pockets perfectly meet my photo equipment needs. Additionally, the compartment above the camera compartment provides ample space for my clothing items and a few trail snacks. The right-hand external pocket and straps nicely accommodates my tripod. For wet weather conditions, the built-in rain fly, stored in the bottom compartment, provides additional protection for all items carried in the Photo Sport 200. Finally, the Photo Sport 200 is well constructed from rip-stop nylon. I highly recommend the Lowepro Photo Sport 200.

I hike a lot and needed a backpack to not only protect my nice DSLR camera but also to carry a hydration system, lunch, and some extra stuff. This works so great! I have a 3 liter hydration system and can only fill it to 2 liters, which is ok. There is room for my Nikon 7100 with lens and space for a wide angle lens in the same side pocket. I can carry my tripod on the outside. The waterproof cover (attached from the bottom) is perfect and gives me piece of mind. Very comfortable! Very light weight, also.

Climbed Tenaya Peak in Yosemite, bike 2 weeks through Croatia, 22 mile hike to Lake O'hara in the Canadian Rockies, it does it all with style and grace. Protects my D800 w/24-70 2.8 and 16mm fisheye, plenty of room for water, food, jacket, and small tripod on the side. Rain cover does the job when needed. Planning to buy a 2nd incase my original ever dies from overuse!!

Comments about Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack (Black):

This pack is everything I was hoping for, except it's just a tiny bit too small for my walk-around kit. Gripped DSLR is pretty much a no-go-- that's OK. Even a 6D +70-300L + Blackrapid (and a not-attached 17-40L) BARELY fits, in such a way that it takes a lot of time and care to perfectly pack the strap in order to zip up the camera compartment. Just another inch and it would have been perfect!
Otherwise it is a perfect combination day pack/hydration pack/camera bag. Light but well made with easy ergonomics. The number of compression straps kind of overwhelmed me at first but I quickly got the hang of it. I'll probably look for a slightly larger pack, but if your kit is any smaller than mine I can highly recommend this.

A great daypack for the adventure photographer, the Photo Sport is light and comfortably carries everything the enthusiast needs for a day outdoor, plus a top loading upper compartment for personal items like a jacket, energy bars, sun glasses, etc. One feature I would've like is be able to remove the padded camera box and covert it into a fully functional daypack.

Love being able to take out the camera without completely taking off my backpack. Also isn't too flashy for traveling.

I bought the Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack primarily to haul my Nikon D3 with a lens mounted and an extra lens safely and with hassle free access for quick shots while hiking around London. It worked perfectly! I even had to use the rain cover many times it too was quick and easy to access and kept my gear dry. The pack was very comfortable balanced with not chaffing on my shoulders hips or back. The only down side for me was my Nikon D3 Body was a little snug but it did fit with just a little wiggling. I would not recommend this backpack if you are using a pro DLSR camera larger than a Nikon D3 and off hand I cannot think of one. But any smaller bodied DLSR will easily fit and remove from the camera cavity. Fully packed it fit under my seat on the plane as a "personal carry on item" no problem...which was also a concern.

We had been looking for a camera bag that gave quick access to a camera and lenses but also contained an area for a water bladder and snacks/extra clothing layer. This backpack fit the bill. We spent sometime this past week in Rocky Mountain NP. We did 3 hikes ranging from 9-11 miles. The pack was very comfortable and was able to fit a 2 liter bladder, snacks, raincoat, and 2 small tripods. We did not need the rain cover but it is a nice accessory for when there is rainy weather. We spend a lot of time hiking as we are from Montana. This pack will get a lot more use and we are looking forward to using it more

I had 4 different kinds of backpack and was looking for a mid size backpack that has a small camera compartment with room for other things.
My D7000 fits perfectly with 18-200 and a spare lena. I can also fit a tripod in and still there is room for other stuffs like a book and a spare t shirts etc.

The padding on the back and waist strip makes it lighter on the shoulder. Thumbs up

Really like the pack. Took it for a week long trek through Colorado. Wish the top pocket had a divider around the camera pouch. Besides that the pack looks great and handled very well. Took it out in the rain and still have a dry camera :)

Comments about Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack (Orange):

I required a bag to safely transport my camera and lenses to remote sites that can only be reached by trails. As any backpacker or photographer knows, weather conditions can change quickly so one must always be prepared. I also required space for maps, food and a minimalist shelter for overnight journeys.
Things I like about this bag: This is the most comfortable and durable bag I could find to meet my requirements; it has exceeded my expectations. The waterproof cover does an exceptional job of protecting my gear from rain and sand. There is just enough space for food, water and a minimalist shelter for overnight trips.
Things I don't like: Tripod attachment- I think two straps on the side for the tripod would be a handy addition. Position them away from the side pocket so that can be accessed while the tripod is attached. Strapping a tripod across the bottom makes the bag too wide for remote trails.
I highly recommend this bag for the adventure oriented photographer who wants to travel fast and light.
