Each speaker is amplified and features built-in rechargeable batteries, vacuum bass expansion and USB charging. I have been using these speakers when travelling and they are simply amazing. They take no place, they have rechargeable batteries and you can connect then to any audio device (IPOD, IPAD, any MP3 player)

I bought these for use when travelling with my iphone & Ipad, and tehy're ok. For the money they're a good value, but the sound is not great. they have very little bass and the sound gets lost quickly if you're in an area which has an ambient sound which is a little higher than normal.
What's great is the size and protablity of them, but the included connection cable is very odd...
