Sanyo is celebrating the 5th Anniversary of eneloop by releasing eneloop glitter, a limited edition pack of eneloop in size AA
Just like the classic eneloop, the eneloop glitter batteries get pre-charged at the Japanese factory with electric power, which is generated from solar energy. For this reason the batteries are ready to use directly after being purchased. Thanks to its low self discharge eneloop glitter keeps approximately 75% of its initial charge even after 3 years of storage. Like eneloop, eneloop glitter can get recharged up to 1500 times. The batteries are have a nominal voltage of 1.2V and a rating capacity of 2000 mAh
Additionally the limited edition packs include batteries in 8 different glitter colors: purple, pink, orange, yellow, light green, light blue, silver and black, which enables users to pick colors according to their taste or to use colors to remember which batteries are charged and which ones need to be recharged

I haven't had them long of course, but even out of the package and into my flash, I noticed I could get more pops in a row than I ever could with a fresh pack of other brand rechargables.
Minimizing recycle time is a great benefit for a run and gun type shooter like myself. I never know where the next amazing thing will be and I have to be ready.
I also have a bluetooth mouse that absolutely VAMPIRES batteries to no end. Some of my older rechargables would go only 4-5 hours in it before dying again. So I'm interested to see how long an eneloop will go (over a week so far!).
I got the glitter pack because - well it's just fun looking and it IS nice to differentiate batteries. Set up a pattern of use and you always know which should be charged.
I think I'll have to get a few more packs. The cost is on par with what I'm paying already for other name-brand rechargables and I can use the chargers I already own (per Sanyo's site).

Was taken in by crazy colors and good reviews. Fully charged batteries before using, so I was surprised that i was getting inconsistent power right from the start. After 20 or so flashes I was getting total failure. I will be returning theses batteries and going back to more reliable product.

Right out of the box, these puppies did have a charge, but it wasn't full, and I find piece of mind in slow-charging them right off the bat anyway. I use high capacity (2700 maH) Powerex as my primary batteries in 3 speedlites, trying to remember to charge right before any sort of important shoot as they don't hold a charge very long. The Eneloop are lower cap but the longer life, makes them great, reliable back-up power.
I LOVE the claimed recharge life as well!
Plus, the unique color makes them identifiable from the rest of the dozens of AA's rattling around in my bag.

I have 6 other sets of 4 Eneloop AA's. I love them because:
-They keep their charge longer.
-They heat up slower than other brands, which means a lot w/ Nikon SB-900's and SB-910's.
-They're good for 1,500 charging cycles.
Just couldn't resist the prestige of having GLITTER Eneloops while other photogs "make do" with the boring white ones. Now if they would only bring back the Chocolate Eneloops...

Functions as advertised. Great especially for the Marshall on-camera monitor I use - because that device uses up power quickly.

I purchased these just before leaving on a river cruise in Eastern Europe and I did not have the experience I expected. They were factory charged, but the charge did not last as long as expected nor have subsequent charges. The problem took place with both my cameras (canons using AA batteries). I do not know if this is a problem with the batteries or my charger or the ships electrical current. However, had the original factory charge been sufficient, none of the other factors should have applied.

I've used eneloop batteries for about four years now for many different flashes - they last much much longer than any other type of battery I've tried and best of all they don't drain away if you have to store them for a while. I definitely recommend these (and kinda love the rainbow glitter...)

These look significantly different than non-rechargeables, so I'm hoping my family will not just throw them away. I like to use my batteries in pairs, so by buying two sets, I can color match them. I have had these in the past and they hold up well. The plastic case is a nice holder, also. It did seem that they were not fully charged when they arrived, so you may want to charge them first.

I like eneloop batteries because they can be cycled so many times without going bad like other inferior rechargeable batteries. The eneloops I bought years ago still work. These have the bonus of looking nice; the distinct look makes it less likely that the person changing the battery will mistake the eneloop for a disposable.

I really wouldn't recommend those over the regular Eneloop, they are certainly the same. But if you buy 4 packs (yeah... what I did), then you can match up colors to create packs for your flashes, cameras, etc.
And the colors and glitters are really good looking!
