This is the black Reporter Sling/Waist-Style Bag from Clik Elite. With its sling-style design that provides rapid access to your gear, the Reporter is an efficient way to store and handle your photo gear whether for pro or amateur use.

The bag is ergonomically designed for the shooter who wants an efficient compromise between a traditional shoulder bag and a backpack. The Reporter, with its comfortable shoulder strap and waist belt, can hold its own against most dedicated shoulder bags. Yet, it offers you several advantages that should be considered when you are hunting for a bag that will hold your pro DSLR along with multiple lenses.

First of all, it's a lightweight bag at 2.4 lb (1.1kg) and is made from durable water-resistant Cordura nylon. Additionally, it comes with a nifty little rain fly that provides even more protection for your gear when the weather turns sour. The shoulder strap is comfortable and is complemented by a padded waist belt that will help on those long days when you're in the field. The waist belt will also accept optional pouches for various accessories.

When you're ready to shoot, just swing the bag to the side and unzip the camera compartment. When done, zip it up, toss it back over your shoulder and move on to the next assignment. The Reporter is backed by Clik Elite's lifetime warranty and is a viable alternative when you need a lightweight sling-type bag that will hold your camera, lenses and accessories.

Comments about Reporter Sling/Waist-Style Bag (Black):

I needed a waist bag to carry equipment around all day without hurting my back! The waist strap and sling strap are great as you can alternate which part carries the weight! And unlike backpacks that make it a hassle to access the compartments, this one opens from the top and is so easy to swing from your back to the front. You can also switch the side of the sling strap to relieve your shoulders once in a while. I also needed to be able to fit in my 11' macbook air and by cutting each end of the tablet pocket, (and with a bit of forcing when the bag is full), it actually fits! Making it the most polyvalent compact travelling bag for me. Only disappointment is the lack of small pockets to sort out your small accessories. The front pocket is big but doesn't hold much at all. I usually just add one or two lense cases on the straps when I need extra room. You can also easily attach a tripod to straps underneath the bag.

      Sling Bag that Works

Comments about Reporter Sling/Waist-Style Bag (Gray):

I've been using this pack for about 10 days now. I really like it. I've liked shoulder-style bags since I first started taking photos, but eventually your gear gets heavy enough that I can't carry a shoulder style bag for long without causing myself back pain. The belt on this bag makes it possible to carry a shoulder bag and not have to suffer for it later.

            Other things I like:
            1. This bag has a semi-ridged structure to it meaning that when you set it down it sits upright. It's a little thing, but when your bag is always tipped over it takes longer to get into it when you need it.
            2. It's roomy!
            3. The Mono-Pod loop. I haven't used this yet but I think I'm going to get a compact tripod to carry with this.
            4. The belt has loops for adding accessory bags/lens cases. I Haven't used this yet, but I think I will.
            5. The weather cover.
            6. The color... I really like the light gray color.

            What could be improved:
            1. I'd love to have memory card pockets inside the top flap.
            2. Ditto for a battery storage solution. I don't see many camera bag makers really thinking about this need. We use batteries all the time. Can we get some dedicated storage. A pocket that is meant for batteries and is easily accessible. Seems like it could really make things better.
            3. I am still figuring out how to get this to sling forward and work well for that. I think there's a way, but I'm still figuring that out. It's a little awkward. The features that make it easy for long term carry make it less conducive to swinging around to the front for easy access.

Overall I'm very happy with this bag. It seems solid with a great set of features and I got a great deal on it from B&H. A good bag is a real joy.

Comments about Reporter Sling/Waist-Style Bag (Gray):

The zippers are quite nice. No problems opening or closing. Nice to be able to change the side of the shoulder strap. The straps are nice and thick too. I got this for my 5D Mark II (I have the battery grip attached as well). Its very snug, so snug I was worried it wouldn't fit well enough. took me a bit to adjust the velcro flaps to keep my camera in a good position. Once I did it was great though. Definitely has enough room for a speed light and 1 lens plus a few small items with the camera in the main pocket. You can also hold a zoom lens and a water bottle on each side of the outside of the bag. The rain cover was what finally sold me. For the price this bag is very, very worth it.

Comments about Reporter Sling/Waist-Style Bag (Black):

I am traveling to Spain in June 2013 and there's no way I am going to carry my other bags on an airplane: a Lowepro Fastback 350(a very large backpack) or my Lowepro Offtrail 2 beltpack(a good beltpack for backcountry hiking but very unstable and uncomfortable for airline travel).

This will be the third time I'm traveling to Europe and the first two trips I made the mistake of taking either too much equipment or a very uncomfortable bag(the Lowepro Offtrail 2).

The Clik Elite Reporter bag is *BY FAR* THE BEST solution I've found for traveling abroad with my photo gear and when needing my gear to be packed tightly, securely and to have it all be quickly accessible. No other solution comes even close; and I say that after having looked at every other bag in its class.

When I first unpacked the Clik Elite Reporter I immediately noticed how small it is. My daughter said: "Uh, oh, you're not going to get any of your gear in there!" and I agreed.

              How wrong we were!

I am able to fit the following gear in the
              Reporter's main compartment:

              - Nikkor 80-200mm f2.8 AF-D ED with attached
              tripod collar and lens hood.
              - Nikon D600 camera body with battery grip and
attached Nikkor 16-35mm f4 with hood.
              - Nikkor 50mm f1.4 and a large Rocket Blower
sensor cleaner. Or, a Nikkor 28-105mm,
instead of the 50mm, plus the Rocket.

Inside the Reporter's external mesh pouches:

              - Two Nikon SB-600 speedlights with Nikon
carrying case. Or, one SB-600 in one pouch
and a bottle of water in the other pouch.

Inside the Reporter's small, zippered compartment:

              - Nikon battery charger and two batteries.
              - SB-600 diffuser dome.
              - Nikon shutter release cable.
              - Lens cleaning paper & lens cleaning cloth.
              - Two cokin P filter holders.
              - Several step-up rings
              - Plus, room for pens, gum, chap stick, etc.

              Inside the Reporter's iPad slot:

              - Two graduated ND Cokin P filters with cases.
              - One Hoya solid ND circular filter with case.
              - With room for a couple more filters.

That's a *LOT* of stuff for one small bag!

The most outstanding quality of this bag is that, after all of the gear is in there, it is a solid BRICK! It literally feels like you can throw it against the wall and it will bounce back(of course, I'm not going to do that ;-). I can easily see myself throwing this bag into the overhead baggage area of an airplane and know that nothing will happen to my gear.

The zippers, stitching and materials of the Reporter are FIRST CLASS and I have no doubt that this bag will last a decade, or three.

When stuffing the aforementioned Nikon body and lenses into the main compartment it always feels like the zipper will not be able to close. But, somehow, it does! It's as if though the material stretches and grows. It's truly an OUTSTANDING design in ALL RESPECTS. The folks at Clik were thinking!

The bag can be carried over the shoulder and/or with the waist belt. Either way, it's perfectly comfortable and ergonomically well-designed.

              **************
              Caveat Emptor
              **************
I've found *ONE NEGATIVE* with this bag: It may not fit the Nikkor 24-70mm AND the latest Nikkor 70-200mm VR. Both of those are longer/bulkier than the Nikkor 16-35mm and the Nikkor 80-200mm that I am using, which fit VERY tightly into this bag, with little to no wiggle room.

That said, the nomenclature of this Clik product may be misleading to those hoping to fit those bigger 'reporter' lenses into this bag. However, since the bag seems to stretch for days, it may very well be possible that those lenses will fit into the bag(the official Clik site has a chart that shows that the 24-70mm will fit, but they make no mention of the 70-200mm f2.8 VR). The only way to test that lens combo would be to buy the bag and try it out. As we know, B&H has an excellent return policy, so nothing will be lost.

In conclusion: I am finally able to carry EVERYTHING I need for an overseas travel trip into ONE SOLID, COMPACT BAG!

Kudos to the folks at Clik for designing an *OUTSTANDING* product. Five stars is underrating this product, but that's all that B&H allows.

Comments about Reporter Sling/Waist-Style Bag (Black):

This is a great bag. I use it for every day carry of my camera gear. I can fit a 60d w/grip and large lens with the hood open, AND 2 additional good sized lenses. The bag distributes all of this weight perfectly and makes it easy to carry even with a tripod attached.

You can access your gear fast, just by sliding it in front of you, it can be adjusted for left or right shoulder carry and can be attached to your waist if you want. It can even carry a small tripod across the front. The sides of the bag have pouches with a stretchy material and straps that can hold water bottles or two small/medium lenses.

Inside the bag I can fit a pro body camera with a grip and 10-20mm attached, 18-135, and a 100-300, and the back of the main padded compartment has an area for an iPad or tablet. The front pocket is rather large and can fit a generous amount of accessories.

The bag would be better with more pockets for accessories to be seperated into. Other than that there is no real down side about it.

Comments about Reporter Sling/Waist-Style Bag (Gray):

This is a very good bag which could excellent if it was just a little bit bigger to accommodate a partly-rigged DSLR camera more conveniently. Differing from conventional camera bags the Reporter Sling/Waist-Style Clik Elite is not just a sling bag but also gives support to the back with the waist strap. For someone who does not like the one-sided pressure on the back - which can be annoying when carrying around a sling bag for a long period of time - this is a huge relief. Also, the quality of the bag is very good. I quite like the front compartment in which I can store two 4x4 ND filters. The bag could be excellent if it was just a little bit bigger. Getting out my DSLR with base plate for my Steddiepod could be easier if the bag was a bit wider. Apart from this minor let-down I can recommend this product.

Comments about Reporter Sling/Waist-Style Bag (Gray):

I purchased this bag as a travel pack to make street and scenic shooting more convenient. It does exactly what i need it to. It easily accommodates my Canon 60d with the battery grip attached, and the 18-200 lens attached. I can also carry my Tamron 10-24 lens, 1.4x converter, and a flash, along with all of the other accessories, like extra batteries, memory cards, a rain hood and my BlackRapid RS-5 Strap (in the outer pocket). It also has a weather cover built in to protect the contents in inclement weather. It is a small bag. there is little room to spare with the above contents, but isn't that the point in travel photography. I don't want to carry a lot and be weighed down, so this is a perfect bag for that. Especially if you are tarveling with a group and hope to remain unobtrusive but still have what you need to get the shots you are after. If you are looking for a catch-all, this won't do it, but if you want to travel light and efficiently, this is perfect. The girth strap is comfortable and secure. The shoulder strap can be attached on either side, so the bag can hang on the opposing shoulder of my camera. it does have loops on the girth strap to attach other items like lens bags or, in my case, an image backup drive. Over all, a very well designed bag.

Comments about Reporter Sling/Waist-Style Bag (Gray):

I was looking for a replacement for my discontinued Lowe Pro Off Road case which is both an "over the shoulder" and a good waist belt case which is relatively compact for its capacity. The Reporter is the closest case I could find. The main compartment is quite spacious, accommodating my Digital SLR (Canon 7D) and three lenses (Canon EF-S 10-17, EF 24-70 2.8 and EF 70-300 4-5.6) easily. I use the iPad compartment for storing filters, as the front pouch is not that large (although the lens hood for the 10-17 fits in it). I like the sling shoulder strap style for casual photography, and the waist belt for stability when I am climbing around outdoors. This case fits the bill, but the shoulder strap is a bit on the smooth side, so it doesn't grip as much as one would hope. I am experimenting with fixes for this. I would give this case 5 stars if the shoulder strap were grippier. I like the lighter color for outdoors so the bag doesn't act as a solar collector. Although I feel the size is relatively compact for its capacity, it would not fit into a casual photographers definition of "compact".
