Comments about Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical Lens for Pentax:
I am semi-pro with both Pentax and Nikon equipment. I thought this lens was very sharp from day one but Sunday I matched it with the well respected Nikon 105mm f2.8 pro lens. The Rokinon did excellent against this $[$] lens, only loosing a bit in th corners, and that was hardly noticeable. I also preferred the color rendition of the Rokinon. So I am very happy I bought it considering its quality, balance, workmanship and specially sharpness. This lens will work with my future full frame Pentax and as a "portrait lens" an 85mm makes more sense that a 105mm in digital crop frames. By the way, I love B&H ! Keep up the good work !

Comments about Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical Lens for Pentax:
I am a semi-opro owning both Nikon and Pentax equipment. I bought the 85 mm for the Pentax as I use that camera more and more. It is very sharp and the colors and Bokeh are beautiful. You cannot go wrong for the price of this lens. I did not need it as I own the Kikon 105 mm for model shoots etc. But again, for the money this lens is outstanding, and it would be superb at any price really.
Criticisms of the lens have revolved about the flimsy lens cap and hood. I solved that by buying a Sensei (generic) lens cap with the pinch buttons in the middle and now I can keep the lens hood on all the time with the cap on or off.
And last but not LEAST.....the focus indicator led works on my Pentax when in focus!!!!!

Comments about Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical Lens for Pentax:
The focusing ring is really stiff compared to other manual lenses I have used. As a result, it takes a lot of force to change the focus and this causes the camera to move a lot which makes it difficult to capture candid shots. The lens is also heavy weighing in at nearly a pound. This makes my Pentax K-5 feel off balanced.

Comments about Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical Lens for Pentax:
The lens works great. Smooth, long focus ring. Clear, crisp images even wide open. Very well built. Heavy glass as it feels well constructed. I listed the weight as a con but actually it feels good on the camera. 72mm diameter for those wanting to add filters. Color is excellent. You can't beat the price. awesome bokeh. My new favorite lens. Manual focus works well.

Comments about Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical Lens for Pentax:
Bought this lens based upon the great many positive reviews it has received. Not disappointed with it in the least. Shot 9 gig of photos and video with it the first time out. Worked just as well as all the reviews said it did. Had no problems acclimating to it.
The only way it could be improved would be to have a metal barrel. But that would boost the cost up considerably.
This lens cannot be beaten for the price.

Comments about Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical Lens for Pentax:
It took me a while to remember the old times when I had to stand up and walk away or closer to the subject. Lens is very sharp even wide open. I can see some tiny bubbles inside the lens... I thought of exchanging it but all photos come out nice. I read somewhere that lenses with tiny bubbles meant back in the 60`s or 70s a superieur lens because of the light it captures and it is because of the way they built the glass. I sure hope so :)

Comments about Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical Lens for Pentax:
It is hard to find good quality brand new prime lens for less than $300 these days. This lens is what you were looking for if you are photographer on budget.
This lens is made by Korean optic maker Samyang, same lens is sold by Vivitar and Bower but they are essentially the same lens, but this one from Rokinon is cheaper for some reason.
The construction is solid and you can use auto exposure as lens has A-position. Also this lens while it is fast (f 1.4), is not that heavy.
The lens hood is flimsy compared with my Zeiss 50mm's hood which is made of metal (well think about the price of this lens). After test shot, I extended hood using plastic sheet as original hood is not long enough for APS-sensor camera.
Filter thread is made of plastic. You do not want to change filter often with this lens, but most likely most users will shoot without any filters or with protective filter attached all the time.
Optics is very nice, sharp if you focus correctly, color rendition is good as well.
