Comments about Rokinon 8mm Ultra Wide Angle f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Sony Alpha Mount:

This lens is super sharp (for the money) and allows for some great creative photography.

The front and back caps are cheaply made and I forsee having to replace them.

Amazing fish eye made specialy for a APS cameras. Truly 180 Angle of view in One photo . A little bad focus in a short distance but good in the longerst. Good shape and contrast . No much luminose but works grate with the -1 compensation as they sugest in the instructions. Defintly the best price - cuality Bali for this grate fish eye .

Comments about Rokinon 8mm Ultra Wide Angle f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Sony Alpha Mount:

This is an excellent lens for that cost. I've used it on my a77 and its a great duo. Nevermind about not having autofocus, since the a77 has a built-in focus peaking. Combining this with a small aperture beyond f8 you don't have to worry about getting things out of focus.
            I'm very happy with it.

I use this lens on my sony a57 which I primarily use for video and it is amazing. It's very easy to use. I love that it has an aperture ring on the lens itself. The glass is very sharp. This has replaced my 10-24 Tamron.

Comments about Rokinon 8mm Ultra Wide Angle f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Sony Alpha Mount:

I had been thinking about getting a fisheye for a number of years. But, I could never justify the cost/benefit of getting an OEM lens. I'm mostly an event shooter so the main lenses are usually fast standard and short zooms. After reading a few reviews on the best forum for Minolta/Sony photographers, Dyxum, I justified the plunge for this lens.
Don't worry that it has no AF. Get into the camera menu and set "release without lens" to YES. Set the aperture to F8 and the controller to P (PROFESSIONAL!!) mode and shoot away. I recently covered a tractor pull at an indoor area. The fisheye perspective gave the images a whole new life.
The lens is sharp. Due to the extreme wide angle you will get some flare from point source lighting, but that just adds to the effect.
Note: Don't loose either the front of rear caps. The front cap is unique while Minolta/Sony rear caps don't hold on to the rear mount.

Comments about Rokinon 8mm Ultra Wide Angle f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Sony Alpha Mount:

I used the opportunity of my visit of the United States to get my hands on one of these lenses. I read a lot about the Samyang branded version and since they are all the same, I got it straight away.

I shot a lot of pictures with this lens on my A330 and was a little uneasy about how it would go with the first fully manual lens I actually bought.

I must say, it was dead simple though it took some time to get the exposures right (I had to choose the shutter speed so my metering indicator would show a +1.7 exposure on the viewfinder and a +0.7 exposure on LiveView which took some time of getting used to.

I shot a lot of architecture on my visit to New York and the pictures turned out to be some of the best I ever shot. Usually I shot inbetween f5.6 and f11 and the pictures were among the sharpest I ever produced only losing some detail at the edges. Focusing was a No-Brainer, simply set the focus ring to 3 feet and never touch it again, and pretty much all photos will be just fine. Even shooting low light from the top of the empire state building, with only some handrails aiding my stability, the shots turned out great.

I highly recommend this lens for the price to anyone, who wants to start shooting ultra-wide without putting a lot of stress on his wallet.
