  • QR Platform Has Fluid-Action Pan System
  • 21" Total Folded Length
  • 3.8 lb Total Weight
  • 7 lb Load Capacity

The Davis & Sanford Voyager TG Tripod with TriggerGrip Ball Head is a complete camera support system that enables fast and easy adjustment to the head's positioning. The 4-section tripod features a 2-section column, which means that though the system reaches a maximum height of 62", it's capable of folding down small enough (21") to fit easily inside a backpack or carry-on luggage.

Flip locks enable leg extension. Legs can be set independently at three different angles for work on uneven terrain. Thanks to the dual sections of the rapid center column, minimum height is a very low 11".

The 5" tall TriggerGrip head features an ergonomic grip that allows you to squeeze the trigger and quickly reposition the head. Simply release the trigger, and the head locks into place. This type of head is ideal for action photography that requires fast and frequent setup changes.

The head's quick-release platform features a fluid-action panning function (with a lock) that operates independently of the movement of the ball head. Smooth panning makes the tripod & head suitable for many video applications involving compact camcorders. The lightweight (3.8 lb) tripod supports loads up to 7 lb.

A quick-release plate is included, as is a padded carry case.

Rapid center column (21mm diameter) has two sections

This is a light weighted tripod which can hold a DSLR and can easily be packed in a backpack. I use it with Canon 60D with 17-55 f2.8 lens with it mostly. I am 6 feet tall and it comes till my shoulder, not to my eye level. The trigger grip comes useful and I personally like the trigger grip instead of pan handles. Easy to set up in minutes. I have used this tripod to photograph fireworks in Disney. You have to imagine the crowd and the limited space you will get to place your tripod and the extreme darkness before fireworks. This tripod comes handy for those situations. The bubble level comes in a tricky place and you will not be able to see it in dark conditions. The knobs are made up of cheap plastic. The plastic knob which covers a screw got broke just after unpacking it from box, but I am just living with it. Also the rubber shoe caps at the end of the legs are glued with cheap gum and one of the caps came off after first use and it was lost. This is creating instability and inconvenience to pull the last section of the leg out. 4 star for lightweight and trigger alone.

This is a lightweight tripod which you can carry around easily. It can be easily fit in a backpack and the trigger grip is a plus to pan for videos. All the plus is made in to minus by having cheap plastics all around. For this price no one will expect cheap plastic for construction.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Voyager TG 4-Section Aluminum Tripod with TriggerGrip Ball Head:

I got this tripod about two weeks ago and used it inside only. I had no opportunity to try it outside - weather restriction /minus 20 /. First impression of the tripod: looks solidly build and good quality. Picture taken with it look better compare to handheld. Trigger Grip handle very useful. Overall I like it and recommend it.
B&H service as always top quality.

seems to work well with my Orion star tracking mount and 800 mm 5.6 canon lens. Have not tried it in the wind, but works right on without wind, got some nice nebula and planetory pictures

I don't use action panning where a lever might be better, so I liked the gun-grip WITHOUT a lever sticking out.

This is a sturdy and easy to use tripod. I used it on a photographic expedition to Monument Valley where I had to set up fast and stay aimed overnight in the dark. The pistol grip is quick and accurate. This tripod also looks good and it has a case for airline travel.
