So, you looked at the Nikon grip for the D7000 and weren't quite convinced it's worth the price, hm? I was very much in the same boat, and if I had the money to spend on a nicer grip rather than batteries/memory/other accessories, I likely would have gone with the Nikon grip. However, for [$] with the included EN-15A battery, I've discovered that this Bower grip is quite a value buy. Construction is very solid, and while the scroll wheels and shutter don't feel the same as the camera's (not as comfortable or smooth), they're by no means bad - they are responsive and in the proper directions). The AE/AF lock button's function can be set within the settings of the D7000, and it works quite well, though the rounded plastic doesn't feel nearly as nice as the Nikon button. I will note that the directional pad however, is a bit of a disappointment - mostly because I find that trying to middle click to center focus isn't as reliable as the on camera button (tendency to tip in a direction instead of straight down). That said, it's really only an issue when I'm using a single focus point.Ergonomics are quite nice, and the rubber itself even matches that of the D7000, unlike some of the other off brand grips. If you've seen complaints about the wheel that screws into the tripod mount rattling for other off-brand grips, it isn't a problem here. The grip mounts very securely to the camera, and fully screwed in there is no more play between the two than what you get if you try to turn your Nikon lens back and forth inside of its mount. (A millimeter, if even that much.)Now, speaking of the tripod mount - this is where I have been most impressed with the grip - I have been using this grip with the Black Rapid RS-Sport sling, which screws into the tripod mount on the grip and hangs at my side. If you're not comfortable trusting your camera to third party equipment, I don't blame you, but after a month of carrying the camera via this strap and the grip daily, I haven't had the slightest doubt about the camera's security as I run down the court or jump onto ledges, or any number of taxing situations for the mount. The FastenR stays securely in the tripod mount of the grip, and the grip's screw in the camera hasn't loosened a bit on it's own, despite being bounced around quite a bit. This item includes three battery trays, all of which I have used. The included EN-EL15A battery performs fantastically, not only capable of more shots, but also exhibiting slower idle discharge than the Nikon EN-EL15 in the camera. The AA battery tray works just great in a pinch if you need to go those extra hours but are away from an outlet. That said, unless shooting video, I have run through 1200 or so RAW shots (~500 firing the on camera flash, though usually as a CLS trigger) without the EN-EL15A dying, so expect this to greatly extend your shooting time (still or video). Lastly the standard EN-EL15 tray works just as it should, which is great if you carry a spare EN-EL15 in addition to the one inside of the camera. If there are future problems with the grip (short of the tripod mount failing and me being out a camera) - I would buy a second to replace it before buying the Nikon grip (especially with that grip not coming with a battery). I do note that the glue for the rubber on the Bower is not the best, and the rubber did already wrinkle around the tripod mount from screwing in the Black Rapid FastenR. But this is a very minor issue compared with the grip's overall performance. Bottom line, for [$] you get a grip that is durable, comfortable, and more than gets the job done. The Nikon grip is probably better, but I know that I got everything I wanted in this grip, and more, for [$].

Comments about Bower Professional Battery Grip for Nikon D7000 Camera:

This battery grip fits perfectly, and works just as described. My only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was the first one I ordered did not charge properly. But, I returned it and received a new replacement with not hassle at all. The grip feels good, works well, and the camera recognized it instantly.

The low price and inclusion of a battery was very appealing. The grip seemed well made and fit the D7000 body well. But, from a usage standpoint, it's useless. Both batteries were draining despite the camera being set to use the grip first... after a bit of use the grip battery was no longer seen by the camera.

I'm a professional photographer and have seen a lot of junk available. This is all that I expected it to be and that does not mean junk. This is a quality product without all the hype of the factory equivalent. And a bonus battery makes it all the sweeter. If you need back up power for your D7000, this is the way to go. This was a Christmas gift, but I picked it out.

Comments about Bower Professional Battery Grip for Nikon D7000 Camera:

This battery grip is really nice, it comes with 3 trays, one for 6 AA batteries, one for the regular EN-EL15 and the other one is a huge battery that you can charge through the battery grip. The price is really a steal and it evens include a battery with a lot more capacity than the regular one. The build quality is pretty good although not as good as the nikon grip. The grip material is really similar to the one from the camera (again, nikon's one matches it exactly). The shutter button is stiffer and more like the nikon d90 which doesn't have this smooth feel as the D7000. The knobs seem to work really nice.
I say that for the price, I would still buy this grip again and again.

So far little use, but works fine for his little cost compared with the original Nikon.
Includes a battery (not very good) but also an adapter for a second battery and a AA battery Adaptor and all controls are working properly

I have been using this grip for about a week on my D7000. This is my first battery grip so have nothing to compare it to, but it seems to be doing the job. It's easy to use, comes with its own battery plus trays for an extra camera battery and even AA batteries. The finish matches my camera well. I am able to set it to use the camera battery or the grip first. So far, so good!

Comments about Bower Professional Battery Grip for Nikon D7000 Camera:

The battery grip works just fine. The quality of the grip differs from the camera body, so it's not a 100% match like an original one, but compared to the price, it's a great value.
The battery that comes with the box is not the same battery of the D7000, but a larger size and capacity one only working with the grip.

I had bought this grip at the same time I purchased my D7000. In the beginning, this grip seemed to be perfectly fine. It mounted on the camera very snug, but the buttons seemed kinda cheap and the aperture/shutter speed dial were kind of hard to turn. After two weeks, this grip completely broke down, battery died within minutes after full charge.

I sent the grip back to their headquarters, paid $10 dollars for the shipping, and they sent me another one. This one has been working pretty well and I've had it for about three months now. However, the glue holding the grip material to the plastic is wearing off, which is pretty annoying.

Overall, I would recommend just saving up money and buying the Nikon grip.

I debated between this and the Nikon version and thought for the big price difference (not to mention you get an included battery with this grip) why not give it a shot. The fit and finish is very nice, much the same consistency as the camera body itself. I feels tight and looks good when attached. The D7000 automatically recognized it and uses the grip battery before draining the in-body battery. I have about 400 shots on the fully charged battery and it hasn't dropped in charge a bit. The shutter release seems sure and accurate but the lock switch is difficult to determine what position it is in. Over-all this is a great purchase. The product is as advertised and B&H had to my door on the day promised!! Would buy again.

So far I have been happier with this off brand grip. I tried another and the AA tray just wasn't up to par. It was useless as a backup because you can't buy the lithium batteries for months now! Plus this one includes a battery pack just for a tad more. Emphasis on the word "pack." Meaning you won't be able to use this battery "pack" on a D800. It's only for this grip. I was a little bummed when I found out. But I am happy with the backup either way. As some have complained, it took the battery pack 6 hours to charge. Another negative thing was my AA energizer batteries would only work up/down to 80% (still good batteries according to my ZTS pulse load tester). Then it wouldn't power the camera on anymore. That's better than no working AA tray. I have yet to use it extensively or try fresh batteries, but plan to at the end of the month. The durability and warranty remains to be seen. I liked how the rubber grip was more flushed in. But I did notice the shutter button is not as good as another off brand. It definitely takes more concentration to hit that spot. Also, the unit wasn't as flushed in with the body of the camera. Saw a little light, but it's very snug and doesn't wobble. And lastly, the grip itself was not as comfortable as the other unit. But for the price, a quality working AA tray as backup, better keylatch, and an extra battery pack, this unit wins hands down. Especially considering the lithium batteries have been out of stock!
