The Kirk L-Bracket for Nikon D7000 with MB-D11 allows you to quickly change the orientation of your Nikon D7000 on its Arca-compatible tripod head when the camera is being used with the MB-D11 battery grip. Simply loosen the clamp, rotate the camera/grip/bracket, and re-clamp. By reorienting while using the L-Bracket, you won't upset your shooting position, and there's no need for the extensive re-leveling that becomes necessary when you tilt most heads 90°.

Note: Bracket blocks D7000 camera's left-side accessory doors.

Machined from a single piece of lightweight 6061TG aluminum
L-Bracket allows the use of a camera strap
Kirk recommends the use of the Nikon ML-L3 Remote Controller with this bracket
1/4"-20 screw for connecting to battery grip
Sensor-centering lines for both horizontal and vertical orientation. These help you position the camera properly within the ball head's Arca-style clamp

      Going Back doesn't fit D7000

Comments about Kirk L-Bracket for Nikon D7000 with MB-D11 Battery Grip:

The bracket itself is extremely well made however, like others have indicated the doors are completely inaccessible once the bracket is attached. I couldn't access the battery tray either. All around disappointment. Great concept and quality, just doesn't work with my D7000.

Comments about Kirk L-Bracket for Nikon D7000 with MB-D11 Battery Grip:

In all fairness, B&H and Kirk explicitly mention that the L-bracket blocks the side doors on the D7000 body. Another review mentions still being able to use the doors. The straight scoop: with the L-bracket in place, you can still access the battery tray in the MB-D11 grip, but the side doors on the camera are completely inaccessible. This is something Nikon probably should've considered (narrower doors to fit within an Arca-compatible L-bracket), as the doors do not need to be this large. However, Kirk didn't find a workaround, either.

The quality of this L-bracket is immediately evident, and I really wanted to keep it. That was until I learned that a competitor's L-bracket has a nifty slot in the bottom as opposed to the simple screw hole, allowing the user to slide the bracket out to access the doors. This is important to me because the Kirk bracket rendered my wired remote (required for shooting in bulb mode) useless. When it dawned on me that I only use the wired remote when my camera is mounted on a tripod, and I won't be mounting my camera to my tripod without this L-bracket, the Kirk L-bracket had to go back. I ordered the competitor's model for around the same price.

If you ever plan to use an external mic or wired remote for the DC-2 port while you have this L-bracket in place, find another option. If you never open those little doors, this one might be for you.

Comments about Kirk L-Bracket for Nikon D7000 with MB-D11 Battery Grip:

The bracket is self explanitory, but speed and time saving that it provides is incredable. It allows for accurate centering of the lens. I own several of Kirks products and they are made of very heavy duty materials, and the finishes are very clean and hardened.. another great design by Kirk. door openings on D7000 w/MB-D11 are very close and some have said that they cannot open when bracket is on. I use mine, but they are very close..

Comments about Kirk L-Bracket for Nikon D7000 with MB-D11 Battery Grip:

Added to my D7000 with grip to be able to use with all of my gear. I have a combination of Kirk and RRS brackets on all of my monopods, tripods, etc. this bracket fits the camera well and works with all of my clamps.

It does block the input ports so will be an issue trying to use external mic.
