I bought these along with the Etymotic ER-20, which are a little cheaper. Both are comparable in terms of comfort, though different built and material. The Medium protection option is also equivalent to the ER-20, as far as I can tell. The High protection is nice to have in case you're at a very loud music concert, but I found the Medium protection good enough so far. Everything just sounds more balanced because the peaks are eliminated. And you can better hear people around you. So you can enjoy the music much more. And you protect your ears, of course. I don't think the 3rd option offered in the Alpine MusicSafe Pro package, the "Low" protection would all that much extra use, now that I hear what the Medium does.

Used the earplugs at a few shows. Comfortable to wear. Even the lesser sound protection plastic pins to insert in the earplugs dampened the sound a bit too much for my taste, but it doesn't take long to get used to. They provided way better fidelity to the unprotected sound than the usual foam earplugs, yet the supposedly equal frequency dampening is not perfect. Nevertheless, for the price, it's a good buy and I would recommend the earplugs for non-professional use.

    Not enough protection for me

Comments about Alpine Hearing Protection MusicSafe Classic Multi-Frequency Hearing Protection:

I bought these for a 3-day music festival. They are very comfortable and I liked that they don't stick out of my ear very far. I used them with the gold filters (more protection) on the first day, but my ears were humming when the music stopped. I used some earplugs that I wear at work for the other two days and my ears were fine. I think that these would be great for any event where you're not screaming to talk to the person next to you.

Comments about Alpine Hearing Protection MusicSafe Classic Multi-Frequency Hearing Protection:

I'm a drummer and I just started using these both behind the kit and as an audience member at other shows.

The best part about them is that the vocals in a mix come through fairly clean with these filters in, where as other ear plugs seem to knock out those higher frequencies.

It took me quite a bit to get used to playing drums with these because you really don't have a good way of judging how loud you're really playing, but I think that may change with more experience.

Regardless, you can have these in and still maintain a conversation with someone in a large, loud room. For the price, you really cant beat them. Short of buying custom-fitted ear filters, these are your best bet.

PS. I wish the carrying case they came with was metal instead of plastic, and i wish that the threads that screw the top onto the case would be deeper, because right now it's really easy for the top to screw off accidentally.

Comments about Alpine Hearing Protection MusicSafe Classic Multi-Frequency Hearing Protection:

They fit great and work as advertised. I use the medium protection filters while I'm deejaying and switch to the high protection filters when I am just in the club dancing. I found the ear plug insertion tool very useful in obtaining the proper insertion depth. I absolutely love that it all fits into a handy little travel box that I can easily take with me everywhere I go. For anyone who wants quality hearing protection without breaking the bank Alpine MusicSafe Classics are the way to go.

Sound quality was good, did not seem to ruin the EQ

There not bad and they are not great but they keep high decibel sound from entering into the ear canal. That's what I bought them for and thats what they do. Suggest higher price ear plugs if you want better frequency response.
