The Autocue/QTV SSP17 LITE Teleprompter (17") offers a brightness of 300 nits, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, and an aspect ratio of 4:3. Equipped with a broadcast quality prompter glass (70:30), it provides high-quality mirror images and optimal light to the camera. Capable of providing a reading range up to 20' (6m), the entry-level teleprompter is ideal for small cameras such as DV cameras, DSLR cameras, and camcorders.
With a teleprompter hood, the SSP17 LITE Teleprompter prevents excessive light from reaching the monitor. The USB security dongle allows you to transfer the teleprompting software to any PC and simply insert a dongle to validate.
On installing the teleprompter software, the dual screen functionality allows you to reverse the script for reflection in the prompt monitor and keeps it the right way on the PC. The SSP17 LITE Teleprompter offers multi-language text and menus with icon-based action buttons. You can import QStart, .doc, .rtf, and .txt files, and display it on the screen. In addition to multiple prompter control options, it also has formatting and search functionality, and the ability to set markers in the script and assign keys to them.

Good hardware: sturdy but connectors are hard to reach once installed. I was thinking about flipping the display 180 degrees and flipping the image in the software if possible as it is hard to reach VGA/S-video/composite input. The power port is fairly easy to reach. The screw to mount the camera works, but does not appear to be the best solution.
The software has a lot of problems: I made a few calls to the service line (which results in an almost immediate, helpful response) for keyboard shortcuts (no manual/reference included) and general help. You will need to use the dongle on a PC (no problem), if you install it on OSX it will only work on one machine and one machine only once registered. This is out of the question for me. The software can only be registered if you type in the serial number without dashes (found out after calling service, very inconvenient). Chose this unit for size and price, professional look and was not disappointed for those points. Software could be better, a few hardware corrections and it would be a top notch teleprompter.
