Comments about Manfrotto R701.212 Quick-Release Locking Knob for 701HDV Mini Head and 561BHDV Monopod:

I was never a fan of how the adjustment was on the knob to lock the plate, with the camera on it would always have to be turned right into the plate to be tight and then gripping it to unloose was difficult. then one day it fell off. Well missing the screw, I ordered the replacement. Contacting Manfrotto for assistance was pretty useless, but I found all this stuff was sold as parts, so I decided to purchase it and was able to adjust it so it was a perfect fit and now its in a position that doesn't put it in a difficult spot. Im sure I could have done it with the prior but didn't know I could. I used a little lock tight so hopefully nothing falls apart, but it was worth the purchase!

        Does what it's supposed to!

Comments about Manfrotto R701.212 Quick-Release Locking Knob for 701HDV Mini Head and 561BHDV Monopod:

If you have gone through the schematics of your 701 head and figured you needed one of these, then this does what it is supposed to.

I only needed the plastic and the screw to keep it in place, but hey, an extra part may come in handy. Ordered 2 in case I lose it again, so remember to tighten these things ever so often.

        Tricky part

Comments about Manfrotto R701.212 Quick-Release Locking Knob for 701HDV Mini Head and 561BHDV Monopod:

The part this replaces does its job fine...but it has a tendency to pop off the hex nut. The new head for my monopod has been greatly improved with a plate that pops in then twists to lock--no more sliding.

Any way you cut it, these kind of parts are necessary and prone to need replacement. B&H has good prices for this kind of stuff.

Comments about Manfrotto R701.212 Quick-Release Locking Knob for 701HDV Mini Head and 561BHDV Monopod:

My boys were playing with the head of my 561BHDV-1 monopod and the plastic lever portion of the locking knob got lost. This fixed it perfectly, and my monopod works without irritatingly placed pliers again.
