The Kingston Data Traveler Ultimate 3.0 Generation 2 USB Drive (32GB) is a USB 3.0 drive designed for those who are all ready for this USB technology to hit the mass market. Backwards compatible with USB 2.0 as well, the Data Traveler has your storage needs covered. The 32GB drive features up to 100MB/sec read and 70MB/sec write speeds with USB 3.0 connectivity. When connected to a USB 2.0 port the drive features 30MB/sec read and write speeds. And in addition to the 5-year limited warranty and 24-7 tech support, the drive comes with a durable casing and lanyard loop for added protection of your data.

USB 3.0 offers the same ease-of-use and plug and play capabilities as previous generations of USB technologies but with a performance increase and better power management. This USB 3.0 drive is backwards compatible with USB 2.0
- What is SuperSpeed USB 3.0?
- USB 3.0 is the next major revision to the Universal Serial Bus. It offers the same ease-of-use and plug and play capabilities as previous generations of USB technologies but with a 10X performance increase and better power management. This performance increase is achieved through the SuperSpeed technology, which allows multiple streams of data transfer and boosts its peak bandwidth to 4.8Gbp/s (572MB/s). USB 3.0 devices are compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports and connectors but won't run at SuperSpeed without USB 3.0 devices, cables and USB ports with a USB 3.0 host controller. For users of USB 3.0, the goal of connecting devices to PCs or notebooks is still the same as the USB 2.0 specification. Due to the broad deployment of USB 2.0 devices in the market, SuperSpeed USB devices must be backward compatible. The higher speed and reduced power consumption for the USB 3.0 specification uses advanced mechanisms and techniques similar to ones used for other highbandwidth interfaces, such as the PCI Express (PCIe) specification. Video is one of the big drivers for USB 3.0. HD video uses massive amounts of storage and transferring video through USB 2.0 can be time-consuming. External removable storage is also in need of a speed boost. eSATA is fast, however, the industry has not seen broad adoption in the market. i use this flash drive to DJ and its very Fast with the Pioneer CDJ 2000's and its large 32 Gig Capacity makes it perfect for storing large amounts of music especially high quality wave files.
it hasnt let me down once. i've used it on countless live gigs and it always works perfectly. i even drop it in a puddle of water once while getting out of a car to go to a gig and it still worked flawlessly

This 32GB USB stick is light and seems well constructed to survive shock. Not as solid as the and watertight as the Corsair but great for taking along with your portable PC.
You can buy cheaper units but beware - many of these cheaper units have a very slow read/write transfter times. This is not the fastest unit I have but the price/performance is excellent.
You can buy larger 64/128GB units but be careful most of these are either slower or you will have to pay a lot for good performance.
Also I find I am ordering more and more stuff from BH photo - not just camera/video stuff. Its a great outlet that has been around for many years.
