I had an issue with the bracket coming loose from the glass. I talked with the Sales Manager Chuck and he assured me that this hardly ever happens since they switched to the new adhesive. He sent me a new one immediately and shipped it the same day.I haven't had any issues with the new one. Great customer service! The teleprompter is light weight and works really well with different types of cameras.

Comments about Prompter People UltraLight iPad 2 Teleprompter:

After reading glowing reviews of the UltraLight, I ordered one to use with my Canon 5D Mark III setup. While the UltraLight is much easier to use than older, bulkier teleprompter systems, it did not live up to my expectations. It appears that the UltraLight model I received has a few features that are different from what PrompterPeople feature on their website. I decided to return my UltraLight and replace it with an iPad prompter from a different manufacturer. Here are the problems I encountered with the UltraLight:- The design of the Ultralight I received is different from the model pictured online and in the instruction manual. The website video claims the Ultralight requires absolutely no tools for setup, but this is not true. The baseplate requires a spanner screwdriver to loosen and reposition along the sled. Who carries around a spanner screwdriver? The Ultralight model featured on the website and in the instruction manual features a different baseplate screw that doesn't appear to require a spanner screwdriver. As well, my model requires a Phillips screwdriver to open and close the latch of iPad plate.- My Canon 5D Mark III too easily pivots around the single screw point of the sled riser. This is a problem because the camera too easily pivots out of position when I need to move the prompter and tripod setup to a different spot on location and when I need to go handheld. And because the lip is too small and accepts only one screw, I cannot attach a more-secure base plate like the Really Right Stuff to prevent the Canon 5D from pivoting.- The riser needed to accommodate the 5D has a back end that sticks out from back of the prompter sled. This prevents me from attaching an LCD viewfinder and checking focus. - Even after adjusting the iPad tray on the sled, the fixed-position reflective glass does not show the full iPad screen; a small portion of it is cut off. A client complained he was not able to see enough area of the iPad. - My iPad 3rd Generation slides around within the iPad plate, which can be problematic when I go handheld with the prompter.

Comments about Prompter People UltraLight iPad 2 Teleprompter:

The iPad teleprompter seems to work very well. Easy to set up, gets the job done. I've used it on one shoot, with the camera about 15 feet from the talent. He was able to read clearly from the screen, even though it seemed like the area would be too small initially. We bought the Teleprompter+ app to go with this, and it is great. We can import scripts directly from Google Docs or Dropbox, and the talent can run the prompter from an iPhone. Very handy.

My only dislike is that the hood gets in the way of my focus ring, but it's rare to need to refocus quickly with a prompter attached to the camera. So this isn't too big a deal.

All in all, I really like it.

Comments about Prompter People UltraLight iPad 2 Teleprompter:

I wish Teleprompter rigs were not so expensive, considering what they are. I used the iPad app iCue, which is not free! The system came with a remote that plugs into the 32pin connector on iPad2 and the functionality is great but takes a little getting use to.

It was very easy to put together, for my application I was using a DSLR but can be se up for most other cameras. I even was able to mount a field monitor to the back.

I found the best way to control the prompter was to have it scroll at a decent speed for the speaker, but have someone off camera pause and resume when needed using the remote provided.

The iCue app also lets you control the iPad via iOS remote (bluetooth app on iPhone or iPod touch) Bluetooth Keyboard, Touch Tone Remote, Headphone Remote( Supplied remote), Air Turn, Or a Web Server. So there are other methods of control.

The System as a whole is very nice. It is made out of matte black metal parts, which don't reflect light. The iPad takes a little bit of adjusting before its perfectly reflected in the glass. The words appear very crisp and sharp, making for easy legibility.

One problem I have is that if I ever need to take it any where I will need some sort of small bag for it, because it doesn't really break down conveniently. The stage for the the camera is held together by 8, 1/8 in alan key screws. If the stage is disassembled you can fit it flat in a bag saving a lot of space, especially if you travel. It comes fully assembled, probably best to keep it that way, saving you time. The glass is another worry if traveling so its probably best to have a small separate bag or case for it.

Set up only took a few minutes, but best to prep the iPad before hand.

Comments about Prompter People UltraLight iPad 2 Teleprompter:

Prompter is pretty easy to assemble and has everything for use of all kinds of cameras. It's lightweight so you could also use it for handheld walk and talk shots if needed. Easy to read, and the Prompter People iCue app is great for the price! Easily adjustable and customizable.

Price is a little high for what it is, but it's quality materials and produces a pretty professional result! I'd recommend for anyone with a small indie studio, or someone who produces direct to camera web/tv projects.

We love our new teleprompter. It totally made us look like rock stars on our last shoot. It was an added perk that we put into our package. As far as the product goes, it works really well. The controller is just ok, but the teleprompter itself works great. when used with the monitor even people who normally don't use a prompter don't move their eyes back and forth with they are reading because the IPAD is small and you can make the letters as big or small as you want. I would recommend this product for anyone who is working with clients doing head and shoulder shots. It is fabulous.

Comments about Prompter People UltraLight iPad 2 Teleprompter:

I do a lot of digital video projects through my production company, much of it 'down & dirty' without the large budgets of TV assignments. I bought this product because I wanted talent to have the teleprompter there to help them, and in turn, help me turn around a more polished and efficient production.
The iPad Teleprompter (i actually have the iPad 2) works better than I could have hoped for. I bought it on a Tuesday, put it to work on a Thursday. Along with the excellent App which allowed me to control it via my iPhone, it was extremely useful for my purposes. As many have said, the lack of clear directions for installing is a minus, but I'm the least handy guy on the planet , and I figured it out by looking at the pictures.
For the price and ease of use, this product is a great buy for smaller prod. companies. Also versatile; I've used it with 2 different cameras.

As a disclaimer, I have not used this yet in the field, but I have it set up in my office and it is a nice piece of equipment. Obviously, if it works here, it works. There isn't much to it. The brackets are well made and probably indestructible... it goes together easily.

Unfortunately, it is missing a strip of velcro, but that is an easy and cheap fix.

This can easily be taken nearly anywhere. It's light, unobtrusive, and really cool. :-)

Oh, and controlling the software (teleprompt +) through my iphone is the icing on the cake.
