I have a D300 with an 80-400 telephoto that I want to use for wildlife photography from a kayak. The camera and long lens fit into the bag snugly. To assure a water tight seal, the instructions suggest that the top be rolled down four folds. I only am able to roll two folds. For a shorter lens, it would be fine.

The bag is large enough for my telephoto lens as well as the basic lens and a spare battery. Good durable construction with all the features I was looking for to take backpacking.

Comments about OverBoard Waterproof SLR Camera Bag:
- I use this for backpacking
- Adequate for: very light rain; protection against sand/dirt & abrasions; carrying while hiking/backpacking
- INADEQUATE for: steady rain and immersion- poor quality control allows large leaks and poor design allows small leaks (sic); once water enters bag, the mesh will absorb it and it will stay wet

Comments about OverBoard Waterproof SLR Camera Bag:
I am an avid photographer but have, regretfully, avoided using my primary digital SLR camera when canoing or kayaking due to the risk of capsizing or otherwise having my camera end up int eh water. With the Waterproof SLR Camera Bag by Overboard, this fear has been allevated and I am now using it in wet environments ... even when raining. so far, I have not had to face the chance of "testing" whetehr the bag is truly waterproof, but during a recent rain storm, it worked perfectly!

Comments about OverBoard Waterproof SLR Camera Bag:
I bought this to use with my D800 while on my snowmobile. It's ok for that but it's lack of padding is more of a problem then I thought it would be. It's not really waterproof either I tested it and submerged it in water and it let some in. On a good not it does do what I need it to do and with a little modification it should be fine. Plus with its price it's a no brainier.

Comments about OverBoard Waterproof SLR Camera Bag:
I brought the bag to be used only when I'm outdoors and there is a chance of bad weather. The bag is similar to dry bags that are used in rafting and kayaking. After you put the camera in the bag, you must roll the neck opening and attach the buckles to seal the bag. My Nikon D7000 with the 18-200mm lens easily fits in the bag. However it's a little convenient to use if you have to continually open and close the bag.

Comments about OverBoard Waterproof SLR Camera Bag:
I purchased this bag for travel to places that are rainy or subject to water spray. I haven't used it yet, so I don't know if it is truly waterproof. But I bought it as a secondary bag and was pleased that it folds fairly flat so it can go into my luggage. I plan to use a rubber band or velcro strap to keep it contained. There is not a lot of padding to protect gear, so it will require something inside. One small interior pocket, but that should be enough for periodic use. Delivered initially without a shoulder strap, but that was quickly replaced.

Comments about OverBoard Waterproof SLR Camera Bag:
I recently used this bag on a boat trip to the Pelican Bar in Jamaica. It kept my Sony A55 very dry even during a rain shower. It was large enough for my 18-55 and my point and shoot as well. It would have fit more but that is all I wanted to carry.

Comments about OverBoard Waterproof SLR Camera Bag:
I bought this product for a week long canoe trip. And while for the most part it protected my camera, there were a couple instances where I had my doubts. It rained very hard one day, and the bag became damp - and my DSLR had moisture under the LCD screen. I can't say if I introduced the water when reaching into the bag or not. I dried it out over the fire and I was fine from then on.
I also feel like the bag could use more padding too. The bag is really nothing more than a regular dry bag with a few clips on the outside. I was hoping for a bit more protection. I'll hold onto it as my camera survived the trip and I got some great pictures. It was worth it to risk bringing the DSLR over the point-and-shoot.

I'm usually out shooting just before a storm, trying to capture lightning and clouds. I have found the Waterproof Overboard DSLR Camera Bag to be one of the best investments I've ever made as I value my camera and can't imagine having it damaged from a sudden downpour. There is more than enough room for my Fujifilm HS 20 EXR and compact EF 20 flash unit along with a small charging unit and remote shutter release. I now take it with me even on sunny days as I never know if I'll be going into swap areas, rivers or beaches.

Comments about OverBoard Waterproof SLR Camera Bag:
I either sling this pack over my shoulder, across my chest, or stuff it in my backpack, or daypack. It works. And I don't worry about my Nikon gear getting wet in rainy hikes. The D300 or D5100 body plus attached lens fits with plenty of room for my SD case too. I mounted the Nikon 16-85 and it fit just fine. Will carry the 55-300 in a separate space in the pack.

Comments about OverBoard Waterproof SLR Camera Bag:
The bag is well made, however it was too small for me and has been returned. I have a Nikon D90 with a 16-85mm lens and a 70-300mm lens. To put either of these as well as a small towel in the bag to take out on my kayak, it just did not work. If it was a bit larger, it would be wonderful.

This waterproof bag is the ideal accessory for my D90- carried around my neck and worn over the PFD. The camera is then easy to get at when needed and I don't have to worry about serious damage from spray, splash or a unexpected roll while paddling. My kayaking friends think its a must-have item.
