The Vanguard QS-65GH Quick-Release Plate fits the dual-locking quick-release element of the Vanguard GH-100 Pistol-Grip Ballhead. The plate serves as a replacement part or can be used to shoe an additional camera, so you can quickly and easily switch out one camera for the other on your GH-100 head.
Featuring a standard 1/4"-20 screw to fit virtually any camera, the QS-65GH plate measures 1.97" (50mm) in diameter.

Purchased a GH100 head for the tripod it came with one quick release plate. To make full use of the tripod for the bino's, digital camera , and the spotting scope purchased a couple more of the quick release plates. This way the plates can stay on the various components and it very easy to change from one to the other. The plate is slightly big if you have a small camera bag however it does not interfere with any of my camera's functions. Canon SX50.

I have had the Vanguard pistol ball grip for a couple years now and it works so nice with the Vanguard tripod. Recently my wife has taken up photography and is interested in doing macro. Rather than make an investment in another tripod yet, we decided to try to share the existing with just an extra release plate for her camera. A rather inexpensive way to try out tripod based photography for her. If she gets really into it, then we can spring for the full tripod setup.

I use this on my spotting scope, cameras and binoculars. It works and works very well. Much better than others I have used. I highly recommend this pistol grip and its accessory plates
