The Sonnet Transposer 2.5" SSD to 3.5" Drive Tray Adaptor easily adapts a 2.5" SATA SSD or hard drive for use in a 3.5" drive tray, without cables or hassles. It is compatible with drives from 0.27" (7 mm) to 0.59" (15 mm) tall, and 3Gb/s and 6Gb/s SATA (or single connection SAS) SSDs and hard disk drives.
An open-frame aluminum heatsink design effectively conducts and convects away heat. This makes the Transposer reliable and suitable for long-term use. As the transposer does not use a bridge chip, it ensures that there is no loss in data transfer speeds. In addition to the fixed mounting connectors attached to a simple circuit board that ensures tight connections between devices, the outside connector is positioned to plug into a backplane when the tray is inserted.

Comments about Sonnet Transposer 2.5" SSD to 3.5" Drive Tray Adaptor:
I purchased an SSD drive for Mac Pro & got the cheaper drive tray. Spent the
better part of the day trying to get the drive to work ,only to discover
the tray was not making contact. Returned the drive tray & ordered Transponder Drive Tray & in less than five minutes was up and running.

Comments about Sonnet Transposer 2.5" SSD to 3.5" Drive Tray Adaptor:
Reading through reviews of various 2.5" to 3.5" SSD adapters, it seems common to have issues with adapters not fitting into certain drive bays. My first foray into these adapters brought me a flimsy adapter that would fit into floppy drive spaces but not internal HDD drive bays. This product will fit both. And beyond that, it is made of an attractive solid piece of aluminum. The transposer feels like a well-made overengineered component when in my hands. The SATA/power interface is appreciated as well because instead of placing the cable stress on the 250 dollard SSD, the cables now connect/disconnect/stress the transposer, which much less expensive than my SSD.
