The Filter Adapter for Select Canon SX Cameras from Bower is used to mount a 67mm filter to the lens barrel of a lens mounted on a Canon SX30, SX40 or SX50 cameras. The advantage of this adapter is that it adjusts as you change the zoom angle of the lens. In this way, vignetting (the darkening of the corners in the image) is eliminated.

I wanted the original Canon adaptor, but it was out of stock, plus the lower price of this one means I could get the Canon Lens Hood AND a filter adaptor for less money than some other websites wanted for just one or the other alone.
The lower price also means you could buy more than one, so you don't have to fiddle with removing and installing different filters, you could just leave each adaptor on each filter and then can quickly change from one filter to another.
So far, no problems with it.

You must have this adaptor to attach any lens filters to the Canon SX30is; however, it is quite easy to misalign the threads when adding a filter, making it extremely difficult to remove the filter. Also, you cannot attach this ring (or any filters) when using the lens hood, and in my opinion. the lens hood is more useful. I bought a set of Opteka filters to go with this ring adaptor (from another site) and will be returning them as they do very little, if anything, to improve the quality of my photos. I keep trying to make my wonderful bridge camera do things that an SLR can do, but not all things are possible!

Used to add a 67mm filters to the front of a Canon SX20-IS digital camera. Fit well, good and snug. Would be better if it were made from metal instead of plastic. I'm concerned the fine threads will be crossed.
