The Epson Artisan 837 All-In-One Color Inkjet Printer prints 9.6 pages per minute in black and 9.1 in color. The small 1.5 picoliter ink drop size and MicroPiezo technology ensure not only fast photo printing but quality to match the photo lab. The printer uses Epson's 6-color Claria Hi-Definition dye-based ink.
In addition to the print, scan, and copy functions offered by the Artisan 730, the Artisan 837 has a 30 page automatic document feeder and the ability to send and receive faxes. The ADF allows you to fax, scan, and copy up to 30 sheets at a time, in one easy step. The smart touch panel makes it easy to operate the printer allowing you to perform functions such as photocopy, print from a memory card, and even crop or reorient photos. Like its predecessors, the Artisan 837 lets you print directly on a CD or DVD; no need to buy an expensive disc printer or spend time attaching a label.
The printer has multiple connectivity options beyond a simple USB connection. Like its predecessor, it has wireless and wired network connectivity. It also has the ability to print directly from an iPhone, iPad, and most smartphones using Epson Connect.

Originally purchased a canon MG6220 (see my review, not Mac friendly). Sent back the canon and bought the 837. Epson has really gotten on board with this printer and interface. Excellent user control from the front panel, iPad, Mac, PC, iPhone, Android, even includes eprint function that is extremely useful. Just send an email to your printer and it prints the contents, whether a photo or text. Excellent print and scan functionality and quality. Setup was a breeze. Beautiful photo printing. I love the wireless functionality. I put my CF card in it and browse and transfer the images on my iPad or Mac. Can't do that on the canon. Highest resolution photo printing for printer in this price point. Also has a document feeder, two-sided printing, excellent control over scanning. Actually a very attractive printer as well. Really no complaints. Love the iPad app and cloud printing. No need to be in the same room with the printer, or the same country for that matter!

We bought this printer primarily to print photos and documents wirelessly using our Mac book Pro. While connected via USB cable (not included) it prints stellar photos and is quick. However, the printer will not stay connected wirelessly to the computer. The computer can see the printer on the network but when you try to print it tells you the printer is not connected. I've updated drivers and reinstalled the software, really I have tried everything Epson customer support suggested with no resolution.
As long as you plan on keeping the printer connected via cable it's great. However, of wireless connection is important, look elsewhere.

I am having problems with making copy's using the paper feed from the top. My original documents keep getting stuck in the machine.Took my husband and I 3 days to get the new router, wireless printer & computer all playing well together. Being wireless is amazing. The printer seems to print well and the double sided printing is outstanding. I have not owned this printer long enough to give it the thumbs up or down. The paper jamming in the top feeder seems to be my big issue right now.

Comments about Epson Artisan 837 All-In-One Color Inkjet Printer:
So far its a good printer - replaces R300 that the m/b died on. I wanted one that could do CD's like the 300. I haven't used this a whole lot yet but I'll tell what I do know. I wish the unpacking and set up instructions were more clear - I was pulling tape (for shipping) from every nook and cranny on there and just when I thought I'd found it all I'd see another blue piece sticking out of somewhere. I did get it all set up except for one square piece of white plastic I haven't a clue what its for (yet).
Printing - I couldn't get it to work wirelessly yet, so I put a cable on it from my 300. I've had absolutely no problems, love the display it is lit up and large and moveable. Big difference from the 300 where I couldn't even read it without a flashlight and magnifying glass. And when it prints, it is very smooth and does not rock my whole stand. The 300 would shake the whole table and my DH's HP also causes e-quakes! So far, can't say enough good about it - looks like the ink lasts longer too. I've used it several times and hardly notice any ink gone. Since its discontinued I got it half price what a deal this was. Epson is the best.

I use this printer for all my personal printing. I keep hard copies of bills, medical expenses, personal correspondence, articles, household & art inventory, photos. I've only had this Epson Artisan 837 for two weeks, but its a good workhorse & hasn't given me any trouble. I'm not a techie, but found it easy to set up the printer wirelessly. My husband & I were so impressed by the Epson we ordered an additional one for him. He connected to his computer via a USB cable which allows it to function independently from mine. My only negative is I can't figure out how to avoid the print review popping up each time I print. The quality is very poor so its useless. B & H Photo is a great retailer to do business with. I highly recommend them & the Epson Artisan 837.

I just moved recently, and needed to downsize a bit on my computer work area. The Artisan 837 really fit the bill! smaller than my previous printer,, faster and better print quality, plus it added wifi connection for the two laptops we have in the house, as well as a really good scanner that even offers a document feeder to scan multiple originals easily. The double sided printer was an unforseen bonus too!

Terrific product. Easy to set up. My first wireless printer. Wireless is great. I bought it upon recommendation of an I.S. employee at work. So glad I did. I've been using it for a couple of weeks. The only problem I have had is with a door on the front of the product, which opens automatically when it needs to. It is designed to be closed manually, but will not remain closed at times. It's not an issue for me as I use the product daily. I've been told I have the option of taking to a local shop under warranty, but I am not likely to bother unless someless else goes wrong.
Comments about Epson Artisan 837 All-In-One Color Inkjet Printer:
My (second) old Epson CX6600 died recently. Although I explored other brands, as well as Epson, I have always been happy with the product, and the tech support. My computer skills are modest, but it was relatively simple to set up everything. (Almost everything-there is no phone outlet in the room where the computer is set up, but I do not care about faxing). I agree with others that the paper tray feels flimsy, but everything works. I reprinted a photo to compare to the 6600, and the quality was superior. I am still getting to know the machine, but overall, I am happy with it.
