So, prior to purchasing these, I've used Koss, Sennheiser, and Beats by Dr. Dre. In My Opinion, Panasonic beats them all.

        1. Sound response. It's flat. That's what you want when monitoring, because you can later adjust the sound in post-processing. Several other headphones have a distinct signature that you have to account.

        2. Comfort. These are the most comfortable headphones I've worn. They literally "melt" in my ears and I have some large satellites! I can wear these for hours and not even feel them, even though the ear cups are a little on the heavy side.

        3. Bang for the buck. Just the right price to get everything I want, including movable earcups for one-ear monitoring.

The cable is more than enough long, and I dig the simple black/silver look. I'm sure the other high-end Panasonic headphones have even better construction and components. But if you're budget conscious, definitely give these a try.

        Big Sound Surprise!

Comments about Panasonic RP-HTF600 Closed-Back Stereo Monitor Headphones:

After reading many reviews of this product, went ahead with the purchase. Yes, it really took a few hours burn-in time to sound their best. A little rusty out of the package but be patient. Sound is almost as good as Sony MDR V6 & V7506! Comfortable to wear for long stretches. Balanced sound with a little extra bass. Mids & highs crisp, clear. Only complaint is non-detachable cord. These are great for portable use during travel. A short cord would help. Great sound, value. Really enjoy these headphones.

Comments about Panasonic RP-HTF600 Closed-Back Stereo Monitor Headphones:

Here are some thoughts about this headphone after using it for 2 weeks. The design is attractive and very professional for its humble price range. The soft material as well as correct sizing make wearing this headphone comfortable. I can easily use it for an extended period of time. However, one of the cons is that the sound isolation is horrible. Everyone can hear what I am listening to, or I can hear people's conversations while listening to music. Again, what else could you expect a @ dollars headphone to be? Overall, I would tell you to go for it.

The sound is decent, they look nice, comfy and appear durable. These would be an excellent choice to give as a gift, no shame here. I ended up removing the earcushions and put on a pair of garfield softies covers (also sold by B&H). WOW!

These headphones work pretty well. They are not very good at noise isolation, and can get uncomfortable after extended use, but they have a decent sound, and are certainly worth what I paid for them. I like that the earpieces swivel so you can use it on only one ear, although it would be nice if they folded up.

I purchased these headphones after scouring the web for affordable, good sounding headphones. For the price of these, you really can't go wrong. The sound is rich & they pair nicely with my turntable set up. I wish the cord were a bit longer since I sometimes like to wander while listening to music and doing other things. Other than that, I have no complaints. They're comfortable and sound stellar.

I bought these to replace a cheap pair which I use when listening to my Ham radio. These fit nicely over my big ears and have a nice even sound, which helps make understanding the other person through the static noise which can be loud. I have tried them with music and they have a very crisp and mellow sound. The cord is quite long (9.5ft) but better that then short.

Comments about Panasonic RP-HTF600 Closed-Back Stereo Monitor Headphones:

first.. although these are listed as "closed-back" they are actually "semi-open" which means there are some ports on the outside of the earcups. this will allow some sound to leak out, however this is more than compensated by what this does for the sound. the soundstage is pretty nice, a good bit of air and nicely presented three-dimensional feel. the soundstage is not huge like some open-back headphones, but also much better bass than you're likely to get on a open pair without paying much, much more. the ports allow just the right amount of impact to allow the driver to really hit, think if you've ever put subs in a box.. adding a port really increases their output. to get great bass on open headphones the higher end models used high-power magnets or alternate technologies to have the wide open sound with great bass as well, which is why they range around $1000 and up. the instrument separation is really nice on these as well. organic music will sound almost as if it's being played on a stage and each sound is coming from a different person. as far as EQ, these have a nice amount of bass but not to the degree that it drowns out the midrange or highs. midrange is full and clear and highs are sharp and detailed as well, not excessively bright or fatiguing (i do like a really bright, sparkling high, but many find that characteristic to be a bit overwhelming). the build on these is the only thing that in any way resembles their price category. they're not badly built by any means, but pretty standard plastic housings with faux leather earpads. i have used these directly from an iPhone 5 and they sounded fine. they do improve when used with an amp, i just use a FiiO E10 out of a MacBook which definitely adds improvement to the overall sound by spreading the soundstage, making everything a bit more rich and improving the bass as well.

final words on these.. if you're looking for a great sounding pair of headphones for under $100 (could maybe even say under $150 or more), and don't mind a little sound leakage, get a pair of these right away. don't overpay for hype or brand, and PLEASE don't pay 6x what a headphone should cost because it has a rapper's name on it. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, if you have any dignity or sense of good sound don't buy some rapper's garbage headphone

The sound quality is very good - very clear and detailed. My only issue is that the bass is a little low. It would have been nicer if there was a little bit more bass. The cord is also too long so if you are using this to simply connect to an ipod in your pants/backpack then you will have a few feet of extra cord to deal with. I tied up the extra cord using 3 zip ties.

I use this product at home and when I travel. The product is both durable and sounds very good. It was as expected, That's because the specs were out front for me to see at B&H Online. Getting what I expect quality-wise is important to me. There really are no drawbacks for me on the headphones. I love them because the sound really, really good.

The Bose were $. RP-HTF600 were about $ . And in terms of sound, they're about the same! Let me write that again. These headphones sound insanely great! I swore by Bose for many years but I finally woke up and decided to try something at about 10% of the price and while it's not as comfortable, it sounds THE SAME! And no I'm not deaf.

My brother bought these for me for my birthday. I had been using the RP-HT360 or my vintage Koss Pro4aa depending on the type of music. The RP-HTF600 is so balanced overall with taut ample bass (although not up to the standard set by the Koss Pro4aa with its closed design and fluid-filled ear cushions) that I no longer use the RP-HT360 at all and only use the Pro4aa for music with a preponderance of very deep bass.

Comments about Panasonic RP-HTF600 Closed-Back Stereo Monitor Headphones:

I would consider myself an audiophile. I have owned Musical Fidelity equipment and owned speakers with some of the finest drivers and build quality in the world. I have recently gotten away from hi fi seperates and mainly focus on good computer speakers and headphones.
Right out of the box these headphones did not dissapoint me, but they did show their true colors in about 5 days or so. They have a really, really good balance of detail, soundstage and bass. I turn the eq of 8k and 16k down a couple of notches and the highs are just right to me now. Coming out of a nice cMoy amp and line out of a portable cd player I did not get any over emphasis on the treble region. I do own a ASUS XONAR Essence sound card so it must just be a matching issue. But, like I said, once I lowered the treble a bit, everything seems just about right.
I listen to all sorts of music. Bob Dylan, Americana, Electronica, New Age, Ambient, Tool, Nine Inch Nails.
They are even lower ($) when you do the check out on here. And it's really hard to imagine any other headphone beating these for sound quality and build quality for the money. And most of the time I feel like they are just good enough period. Kudos to Panasonic for making these bargain cans.
Note: The pads that come with these are decent, but sweat does build. I bought some Beyerdynamic pads for these from B&H and they fit just right and are more comfortable now with no sweat build up. A recommended to-do for these in my book. I also recommend amping them or at least getting a sound card with a built-in headphone amp. They sound great loud. Recently tried some Sennheiser 558's. And overall I think I liked them better but for the money they were not worth the difference. These (Panasonic RP-HTF600) could easily sell for a hundred USD without complaints.

I use these for movies and music listening. I also have Fostex T50 and Sony V6. I read about these comparing them to Senn HD 650, saying the Panasonic are more fun. I don't have 650s, but these are great cans for little money. They have 50mm angled drivers and deep bass. The highs sound right, not shrill or distant. They might not have the detailed sound of some 3 to $500 phones, but they don't sound deficient. The cups are vented. If you magnify the photo, you'll see the oval vent where it says Panasonic. Comfort is pretty good, although it gets a little hot like a closed set. The headband is well padded and easily adjusted on both sides. If you use them for movies or listen to pipe organs, you'll be amazed. Most phones can't deliver really deep bass. Allow 30 - 40 hrs break-in.
