The Foma Fomatol PW (W24) Warm-Tone is a specially formulated black and white paper developer in powder form. Fomatol PW contains no Hydroquinone (HQ). It is designed specifically for the manual processing of the Fomatone-line photographic papers, and also works for Fomabrom, Fomaspeed / Fomaspeed Variant III, Fomagraphic and Fomalux. Fomatol PW features slower developing activity and a warm image tone. The developing capacity of this package is 21.5 - 32.3 sq ft (2.0 - 3.0 sq m) of Fomatone photographic paper (about 50 - 75 8.0 x 10" / 20.3 x 25.4 cm sheets).

Developing time at 60 - 68° F (15.6 - 20° C) for standard and Fomatone warmtone resin-coated (RC) and fiber-based papers is 2.0 - 3.0 min (undiluted). In a solution of 1:1 dilution, developing time increases to 4.0 - 6.0 min, and it goes up to 8.0 - 12 min when dilution reaches 1:3. For non-warmtone fiber base paper (Fomabrom), developing time is 3.0 - 4.0 min (undiluted). For non-warmtone resin-coated (RC) paper (Fomaspeed, Fomaspeed Variant III, Fomagraphic and Fomalux), developing time is 2.0 - 3.0 min (undiluted).

Dissolve the contents of the larger and then the smaller bag in 3 cups (700 ml) of warm water at 104° F (40° C) and then add water until the total volume equals 4.2 cups (1 liter). Fomatol PW yields results similar to those produced by the Harman Warmtone Paper Developer.

Comments about Fomatol PW (W24) Warm-Tone:

Gives beautiful tonal separation and rich brown warm tones. Long development time with dilution 1:1 or 1:2. Necessary to run tests to determine individual results. Once done works well with FOMA 131.
