The XGA 1024 x 768 resolution InFocus IN114 Mobile DLP Projector is a lightweight and compact workhorse that can pump out 2700 lumens of brightness at a 3000:1 contrast ratio on a continuous 24/7 duty cycle. It weighs about five pounds (2.2kg) and its footprint is about the size of a sheet of US letter paper.
Thanks to its 0.55" DLP DMD imaging panel (the part that forms the image) it can crank out vivid, true-to-life pictures and they can be in the NTSC, PAL or SECAM video systems or the full gamut of high definition HD formats including 720p, 1080i and 1080p.
Not only does the TI DLP DMD account for the IN114's vibrant colors, it's a money saver too. DLP-based systems require no filters that have to be periodically cleaned and replaced, saving you time and money.
But switch into economical mode and the savings really soar. Lamp life increases from 5000 hours to 6000 hours while brightness dims by only 20 percent. In standby mode this projector draws less than a single watt.
Whether you have a house full of serious TV addicts or a commercial or industrial application that requires a projector with the utmost of durability, you should seriously consider the IN114.

Doing a great job for biz presentations, with easy to use controls.
Limited ports (no hdmi or dvi) but most laptops have VGA anyway so isn't a big issue.

Comments about InFocus IN114 Mobile DLP Projector:
I am using this as part of my home theater pc. The image is very bright, and clear. I am really pleased with the warranty (although they do not acknowledge registration receipt)I had to send an email to INFOCUS and have not received a message stating that the projector registration has been received. This is my 3rd projector in 4 years all the others only had a one year warranty. So I am very happy with the 5yr warranty on the IN114 projector.
It is a great little projector.

Comments about InFocus IN114 Mobile DLP Projector:
We ordered the InFocus IN114 to use for presentations to relatively small groups (30 or less). Everything was plug and play and we have been pleased with the color and brightness. We have not had to do any manual adjustments to the color as suggested in other reviews. Only negatives is we wish it would have come with a remote that also worked in advancing powerpoint slides and it is disappointing they didn't include any type of traveling case.

Comments about InFocus IN114 Mobile DLP Projector:
I just used this projector for the first time today -- it's lightweight to carry around and easy to setup. The projector is bright enough for a small/medium conference room with normal lighting. It was quick to set up by just hooking up the monitor cable to my laptop -- no annoying buttons to push or waiting for communication. It didn't come with a carrying case, but a 15" laptop sleeve fit just fine. I know there are mini projectors available that offer better portability, but if you can't see the image without turning off room lights, they are of no use to me in a business situation. This projector is a good compromise of image brightness, size/weight, and price. My only complaint so far is that the speakers are really weak -- you can't hear anything through them. I will purchase a set of portable speakers to round out my travelling kit.

Comments about InFocus IN114 Mobile DLP Projector:
Using projector for teaching various youth groups.
Ease of use with multiple brands of PC's and laptops.
Great visability even with room lights on.
Only shortcoming is you really need a case for it if you plan to travel from site to site with it.

The projector is 1 of 4 we plan to buy for our Christian School, provided by the graduating seniors as a class gift. The infocus brand has a proven record of durability and reliability, because my old unit lasted over 10 years. I chose this unit on the resolution, free shipping and price. In the spring, we hope to buy the remaining 3 units.
I've been using this unit for the last 3 weeks and the clarity is fantastic.

Comments about InFocus IN114 Mobile DLP Projector:
I am using the IN114 projector with a HDMI to VGA converter box to allow me to use my tivo, blu-ray player, and macbook (via 3 way switch) with the projector. everything works very well. the remote is useful and will tell you exactly what signal and resoluton is being displayed. operation is quiet, but not distracting. i was expecting a little quieter, but it's not a big deal. I tested all resolutions with my blu-ray and Tivo, I noticed that although the IN114 support 1080p, there is some ghosting and jittering every few minutes, an effect that is non-existent with the other resolutions i tested. this is the only problem i've had with it, not sure if it's just my unit. i suspect that a 1080p signal from my blu ray player is requiring alot more down-processing by the scaler within the projector, thus the occasional jitter. I've heard that matching a signal as close to projector's resolution will yield best results, meaning that in this case, a 720p signal could look less soft than a 1080p signal. To my eyes, 720p looks the best on this 1024x768 resolution projector. Brightness is adequate with the eco setting and adjustments must be made (especially with lowering white intensity) for improvements in picture. Text is clear, but not as sharp as a CRT hd screen. bottom line, if the throw distance was the same as the IN116, i think it'd be a no-brainer to opt with the IN116 as it's only $100 more and has HDMI input and wouldnt require the converter. the IN114 works well with HDMI to VGA and although it is not a digital projector (which explains why it is so inexpensive), it can still project and display HD images quite well.

Comments about InFocus IN114 Mobile DLP Projector:
I've installed this projector on the ceiling at church. We're small-medium, so this projector is plenty good. I would call optics quality on this projector 'the next step up'.
The features, however, on this product are advanced for pricepoint. However, I see other manufacturers beginning to include all of the nicety that InFocus has.
But let me say that the features on this model are advancing toward full feature models. The native resolution of this particular projector is 1024 x 768 (which lends itself basically to a 4:3 viewing ratio). We decided to go with a 16 x 9 ratio screen, and this projector is capable of projecting at 16 x 9.
Depending on your video source, changing the projection ratio to 16 x 9 will squash the pic. The projector is also capable of showing 16 x 10 (letterbox) which fixes that problem for us!
The InFocus site has a wealth of information on installing this product, and if I were you I wouldn't increase the installation distance past the rated throw distance. If you set up the projector within range, you will have a quality picture.
