I now own four domke bags of varying sizes,this is
the biggest,I like the superior quality,strong constuction ,ballistic material{waterproof,holds its shape}plenty of pockets & room,not overly flashy, doesnt draw attention.

the build quality on this bag is superior to any other bag i have owned. calling this a 'little bit bigger' is the understatement of the world. i currently have inside the bag a pentax K20D with a battery grip and 7 lenses, a pentax 645 medium format camera with 2 lenses, a yashica MAT TLR, 2 flash units and loads or filters, cable switches, shutter releases, intervalometers, flashlights and a ton of other smalls packed inside it. the load is heavy but secure. my ONLY complaint is the way the top buckles to the bag - some quick release contacts would have been better than the metal looping kind - but if you are mindful of it and make it a part of the process to lock and unlock them each time - its really of little consequence. best bucks i ever spent on a bag! i still use a sling bag for days when ill be walking a lot or dont need both digital and film outfits but for the most part i have the one and only camera bag i think ill ever need. so much room to store things - you can load it for bear!

Needed to consolidate all my camera gear into one place and the F-1x ballistic was perfect...now I'm organized...the ballistic material keeps its shape and holds everything thrown at it...fully loaded, too heavy to carry but, that's what I have my other Domkes for!!!...

Camera bags are like (my wife tells me) womens purses, very hard to find the perfect one. I own about 15 including several Domke bags. I use this bag to store/carry my FX outfit. Nikon D700 with battery grip & Kirk L Bracket, 50mm f/1.4, 16-35 f/4, 24-70 f/2.8, 70-300 f/4.5-5.6, hoods for all lenses, SB-700, Demb flash diffusers, RRS Flash Bracket, SC-17 & SC-29 flash cords, Lee gradiated ND filter kit, Polarizers for all lenses, Canon 500D Close-UP Lens, rocket blower, small flashlight, & extra CF cards. With all of that there is still room for more. As is, all is well protected and not crowded. Fully loaded the bag is too heavy to carry long or far. If shooting very far from the car, I will carry what I think I will need in a smaller shoulder bag.
High quality Domke bag with enough pockets that it can be a challenge to remember where you put stuff. I like the ballistic nylon material, a little more structured than the canvas bags (not as floppy). I added an insert to contain my D700 w/o lens attached, and with that, everything that needs padded protection (Lenses and Body) is covered.
For all things photographic, B&H is my choice.

This is my 2nd Domke and definately not my last. The F1x is truly, a little bit bigger. Plenty of room for all my glass and filters and cables. The balistic material is supremely tough and water repelant, which is why I got this bag. This is the 2nd time I've been blown away by Domke's finish and quality construction. If you need a tough bag to shoot easily from, this is it.

I'm using this shoulder bag to bring my many lenses and cameras with me on my trips as over the years they no longer fit my Lowepro and using a backpack for lenses & cameras is not very convenient for activities other than trekking.

I agree with most reviews that this product is not very well padded; however, it's good enough for regular uses, which for me is to fit 1 DSLR, lomo spinner, a Holga, and a Luimx + 4 lenses. There are enough pockets to fit films and an iPad if you have one. I'm glad I got this!

I take my camera gear everywhere, all the time. This bag has lots of space to fit my camera body (Canon 20D) multiple lenses, flash mount, battery packs and more. Also room enough for rain gear, etc. for long excursions. So far I love everything about it. Haven't found anything yet that I don't like about it.

Lesson learned, don't buy online w/o first checking product locally IF POSSIBLE. not a fault of product however.

I use it to contain two D90s, six lenses ( 35, 50, 85, 105, 200, 18-100), small flash, and misc items. Plus occasionally toss in a EP1 and 2 lenses. I am not a pro and I usually dont carry all that stuff around.

Plus side- seems very durable, expect it to last. plenty of pockets, and organization OK

Down side -- top flap becomes awkward if loaded with items; would like more padding where bodies placed; would have preferred quick release access to interior. more padding on straps and carry handle

that said, no fault of bag but hasty buying decision. will I use it, yes. will I consider stuffing sections with more padding and such, yes.

in summary, I will use it for transporting that much gear when I need to (ie vaca and weekends) , but have a backpack type for day to day use

that I have to bring my camera.

*EF-S18-200mm F3.5-5.6 IS
*batteries

They can fit in the bag.
Plus, there are more some pockets around.
(front/back/side)

I reckon this is the one we need.

I Purchased this for my Sony HVR-V1U it works great nice lightweight lots of pockets. Finally bought something not made in China. Not well padded so your camera should still be handled with care but strong enough to keep from getting scratched when moving or storing at home

Great bag. The shoulder strap needs improvement since it is very prone to wear out. Domke realizes this and offers replacements. Tougher material would address this.

Wish the velcro strips were wider and on the top and bottom of the inside. Carry 7x50 binoculars and a Nikon F6/28-70 in mine. Recommended.

This is my 11th DOMKE bag. I use this for DVCAM VIDEO gear. This is the tank of bags! You can pack a PD 170 or HVRV1U Sony with lens adapter on. 20 tapes,4/ 970 batteries Charger Headphones, windscreen, Sennheiser wireless. and extras plus you can pack the Gitzo 1380 head Plus Lightweight underwear and T shirt! And take it all on board a plane! Easy to work out of plus travels well Low profile for rougher areas of the world. Goes on lap well for cramped buses or trucks. Repels rain okay. bring plastic bag. Another one might make a good suitcase for warm weather clothes!

Expertise: Motion Picture Work and Television

Problems Encountered: Front clips a little bit to beefy, takes some ummf, This is not a zippered bag so if you are in a dusty conditions bring a garbage bag to wrap bag and camera. Could use 2 more D rings on side.
