The Nimar Underwater Housing for Canon EOS 40/50D DSLR (No Port) enables you to capture photos and video underwater with your Canon EOS 40/50D DSLR camera. The housing is sized and weighted with near-neutral buoyancy and superb underwater handling. It has been tested and proven safe to use at a maximum depth of 200' (60 m). There is an enlarged optical viewfinder providing the brightest and biggest possible image viewing. The housing features a clear back housing cover, allowing for a visual inspection of the O-ring seal surfaces and controlled monitoring of the camera inside the housing. A moisture alarm (light and audio) is included, as well, to prevent any damage to your equipment due to an incorrect closing of the housing.

The locking system consists of a set of secure hooks around the housing, neutralizing any possibility of accidental opening while underwater. Camera installation is quick and easy and you can keep your hands on the handles while accessing all main camera controls, including On / Off. The housing is designed for a Bayonet Port system that accepts a wide range of macro, wide-angle and other zoom lenses, which can be changed without removing the camera from the housing. A port is required but not included with this housing.

This unit comes with the standard Nikonos bulkhead, allowing you to use other manufacturers' strobes in manual mode. When an optional Nimar strobe is connected to the bulkhead, automatic TTL flash exposure control is enabled.

Comments about Nimar Underwater Housing for Canon EOS 40/50D DSLR (No Port):

Bought this housing for use with my new Canon. Housing is well built and has all the controls easly accessible. It is a bit heavy out of the water, but this is understandable considering the quality and functions. The final word,I'm very pleased with nimar.

Comments about Nimar Underwater Housing for Canon EOS 40/50D DSLR (No Port):

Really like the nimar housings overall. Nimar designs the controls very well and its easy to operate the camera freely underwater. I really appreciate being able to control the zoom and also the flash metering. Also I like the clear housings because you can see your camera and easily check for leaks - so far haven't had any in any of the housings but still a nice confidence check.

Used for U/W photography in both salt and freshwater, saltwater primarily.
Easy to use as well as being cost effective. Very easy to see that positive seals have been achieved. It is however a bit on the heavy/large side, not badly so though in my opinion. Overall, good job nimar!
