The Teradek Cube 150/350 HD-SDI Encoder/Decoder is equipped with an HD-SDI input/output, dual band WiFi, and an external USB port, and is suitable for turnkey (ready for immediate use) on-set video monitoring. You can stream HD video over WiFi and then receive the video signal (up to 1080p24) on a small handheld monitor or a professional field monitor connected to the Cube decoder. In addition, it features line-of-sight (waves traveling straight line) WiFi range up to 300’ (91 m).
Featuring a setup wizard, the Cube 150/350 HD-SDI Encoder/Decoder web interface simplifies configuration. You can create a network, log on to Cube's web interface, complete the setup wizard, and start streaming video after connecting video to the Cube system. It features H.264 High Profile (level 4.1) video compression to offer high video quality at lower bit rates.
Downscaling to lower resolutions is possible via a built-in scaler that allows for output streaming resolutions of 1080p/PsF, 1080i, 720p, and 480p. Based on available IP bandwidth, you can choose target bit rates (HD - 2 to 4Mbps, SD – sub-1Mbps) and a video resolution as required. The Cube encoder/decoder offers end-to-end latency (time delay) of 1/8-1/2 second.
With small size and compact design, the Cube 150/350 HD-SDI Encoder/Decoder can be mounted to a rail system, cage, hotshoe, or camera baseplate. In addition, it can be used with camera systems such as Red One, Arri Alexa, Panavision Genesis, Canon 5Dii, and Canon 7D. The Cube encoder/decoder requires 2.5 W DC power and weighs 0.4 lb (0.19 kg).

We bought this set for our UAV HD project, a RC aircraft that transmits live HD video. We started by using the encoder we already owned for our satellite uplink business, which worked perfectly but was too heavy. Almost 1800gr without the case. We then started looking at IP only encoders. We bought another one with two key advantages: First, it had both HDMI and SDI inputs/outputs. Besides, it could be set to work as either an encoder or a decoder. However, it was still too heavy: 500 gr. Finally, we bought and tested this Cube set from Teradek. Weight complies with our limitations: 190gr. At the same time it is a unit with highly professional features. Web interface in easy to use and configuration is quick and easy. It is also great to be able to send video through the Ethernet port and wirelessly, simultaneously. It has also a Low Power Consumption. Finally, the Ipad app to access settings and monitor video is a cool and useful feature. I had to call support for a small doubt, and they were kind and effective in their response.
We really recommend this product. I would only add the HDMI input/output to make it better.
