Questions? Ask our experts:

The SpiderPro Dual Camera System from Spider Camera Holster is a unique way to have 2 professional DSLRs simultaneously at the ready. Designed to carry heavy-duty pro cameras, this is a serious hip-mounted belt/holster system that provides a way to wear 2 DSLRs on your waist as a cowboy would his six-shooters. This gives you more freedom than you would have with 2 cameras dangling from your shoulders, and is more comfortable, especially over long periods of time. Alternatively, you could carry a camera on your right holster and an extra lens (attached via its tripod mount) on your left holster, or vice-versa. It is recommended that you carry a smaller body/lens combination on one side for maximum comfort during extended shoots.

The SpiderPro Dual Camera System improves upon the Single Camera system with the addition of another SpiderPro Holster, Plate and Pin. It includes a belt made from webbing materials similar to those used in army/police equipment. The belt features a triple-lock buckle and fits most waists with its adjustable 28 - 50" (71.1 - 127 cm) size. The rest of the package consists of a pad for comfort, 2 holsters, 2 camera plates and 2 pins. Using this system, you can remain hands-free while your DSLR hangs at your side, waiting for that grab shot. The SpiderPro belt holds the entire rig, the holsters hold the cameras, the cast aluminum alloy plates attach to the tripod sockets of your cameras and let you easily connect your quick-release for tripod use, and the stainless steel pins attach to the plates. The entire assembly slides into the holsters, which secure to the belt using Spider's 2-position triple lock buckle system. Your cameras stay at your side while retaining complete freedom of movement.

When the cameras are slid into the holster, they lock into place. When placed into the upper portion of the holster, they're ready to be drawn as soon as the lock releases - just as if you were wearing a holstered pistol. This heavy-duty system is targeted at the "run-and-gun" shooter who is constantly on the prowl for that "keeper".

Cameras lock into place each time they're returned to holster - in lower position, locks keep cameras secure for longer-term carrying, and in upper position, locks disengage for quick and easy access
Gives your cameras freedom of movement at your hips, and allows you to carry them comfortably without having weight on your shoulders for extended periods of time
Adjustable belt fits most waists, is made from webbing materials like those used in army/police equipment, and features triple-lock buckle system
Pad for comfort, 2 holsters, 2 aluminum alloy camera plates and 2 stainless steel pins
Extremely durable and designed specifically for active shooting situations

With the dual Spider Holster I carry my 5D Mark III with Pro Flash and 24-70mm F2.8 on one side. On the other side I carry my 70-200mm 2.8 Tamron. Hanging around my neck either my Panasonic GH2 with video light or the 5D Mark III... and I still have my hands and arm free to move or carry a tripod etc. One of the best thing I ever purchased. I strongly reccommend this product to photographer and possibly even HDSLR videographers on the move.

First, as a pro who shoots with 2 bodies it's really difficult to find the right solution to combine speed, ease of use, and camera security.

I love the mechanism of dropping the camera into the holster. It's constructed well and is fantastic.

What's not so great is the belt. When you bolt down the plate and pad onto the belt you prevent belt adjustment so that if you lose or gain a few pounds you've got to use tools and remove plates etc just to let out or pull in the belt. Secondly, there isn't a manufacturer's suspender solution in place. When you've got two pro-DSLR's hanging from your belt it is going to pull your pants off.

Great way to eliminate a pain in the neck!

Comments about Spider Camera Holster SpiderPro Dual Camera System:

Other systems for carrying two cameras didn't eliminate the weight around the neck, didn't fully resolve the "clutter" problem, or were clumsy and made it slow to deploy each choice of camera.

The the SpiderPro Dual Camera System fully resolved all of the issues, and eliminated the back and neck pain that I frequently experienced after carrying two cameras for hours.

The system is well-thought out and executed, and the construction suggests that is meant to take hard use for an extended time.

Comments about Spider Camera Holster SpiderPro Dual Camera System:

I tried on several different types of holster, straps, to accomadate 2 bodies. The moment I tried on the Spider holster, I knew no other would work as well.
This is incredibly comfortable, functional and helpful. I wore it for about 8 hours (wedding) using 2 bodies/lens all through out, and this worked so well. I know if I had used straps, my shoulders would have been miserable. Great product, super happy I can use it with one or 2 bodies.

This is a new idea that is great for the contemporary photographer. I dislike strap and having cameras dangle every time you bend over, the Spider holster systems solves that problem. Def recommend it for anyone using heavy DSLR cameras for more than an hour at a time and hate straps.

Comments about Spider Camera Holster SpiderPro Dual Camera System:

As a female photographer, I struggle to find accessories like bags, straps, or holsters, that work with my shape and small frame. They never adjust to a small enough size or they don't account for anatomy, etc. The Spider Harness is my favorite accessory and since owning it, I've had at least half a dozen other female photographers ask me about it.I'm a concert photographer, so I have three songs in the pit, alongside dozens of others at times, to get the shots I want. I don't have time to change lenses, I don't have time to fumble with straps. I often do not have room to move and need everything right there, next to me. The Spider Pro system holds my 5DMKII and 7DMKII with a 70-200 2.8 and a 16-35 without issue. I have a small pack on the back with my fisheye and a couple of spare batteries or cards.I had issues with installation largely because the resources on the Spider website were out of date and showed components that were no longer part of the new system. I had to weave through one video, a five year-old PDF and then another homemade user video to figure it out (instructions just said to visit their website, so...) But when I emailed Spider about the challenges, they answered (during the evening no less) within 10 minutes and bent over backwards to make sure I had everything set up the way I wanted it and that I was happy with the product.I really put the Spider to the test when I had a two solid back-to-back nights of concert photography where I was shooting both shows from start to finish. Not only pacing in the pit, but running around stadium-sized fields for crowd shots, then back and forth to the sound board. I worked about 6-8 hours a night, followed by events during the day the next day and I finished off the weekend with ZERO back fatigue and my shoulders were none the wiser either. The quality has been well documented, but as a female shooter, the best part of this is that it really works with your shape and makes it so much easier. The weight is nicely distributed across the hips. I was able to move fast with the cameras secure and not bouncing everywhere, and I was squatting, climbing up scaffolding, moving around and never once had an issue with my gear in the holster. Nothing moved or slipped or got banged up.My only issue with it was that I still have to wear it a little lower than I'd like, otherwise I can't get it *quite* as small as I'd like. But that's a minor complaint, and the only one I can think of now that they've updated the videos and installation materials on their site.

Comments about Spider Camera Holster SpiderPro Dual Camera System:

The dual holster needs some assembely but is it simple and straight forward if you watch their on line video.

Ii is comfortable to ware, standing. Sitting on a chair is difficult, kneeling is fine and sitting cross legged is ok if you do not mind your cameras on the floor.

Weight distribution is very good and it feels very secure.

I can tell I'm going to like this thing once I get it all put together and figured out, but wow, the amount of time, effort, research and overall frustration it takes figuring out how to assemble the second holster and plate is seriously ridiculous. I've put in at least 2 hours at this point to get it all put together in what I 'hope' is a correct manner. This included watching all the instructional videos on the Spider Holster website, none of which pertained to the Dual system with holster, trying to access the link provided on the sticker that came attached to the holster, which led me back to the PDF page, and then trying to read those PDF's, which never open. Blank pages. Also, what is the extra mystery clip and unexplained velcro strap thing that come in the box? Come on Spider People! Explain things!I echo the other reviewers who say that for this price, the thing should come assembled, or at the very least with clear, concise assembly instructions.

I am a wedding photographer based in California and I tried several products like the oem strap, hand strap, wrist strap and Rapid strap... they work fine. But as an event photographer that shoots at 6-10 hours straight, that long duration gives me back pain.

Bought the Spider holster and it seems that solves the problem. Cameras are secure and i got easy access. The only thing that I miss from using Rapid strap are the pockets where I can store memory cards, spare batteries and business cards.

Comments about Spider Camera Holster SpiderPro Dual Camera System:

As a hiker, nature and bird watcher and photographer, I used to carry binoculars, a camera with a short zoom (15-85 mm), a camera with a long lens (300mm f/4 with a 1.4x multiplier), and a back sac. That's a lot of straps, always getting tangled and that must be removed in the exact order they are put in. An additional problem was that I couldn't run or jump without my cameras swinging around, and my long lens would touch the ground every time I bent or kneel down.
After checking different systems on the web, and specially the user reviews, I ordered this SpiderPro Dual Camera System. After trying out a few combinations, I finally settled on having my small lens camera on the right in the recommended position with the lens pointing toward the back. The other camera is attached by the lens bracket, also pointing backward. To achieve a good balance, I moved the holder pin on the "right" position on the plate so that the suspension point is between the camera and the lens bracket. On the left side, the top of the camera (where the flash would attach) cannot point toward the ground as recommended because the big (grip) side of the camera would be pushing and rubbing against the holster pad. Instead, I rotate the lens bracket (attached to the holster plate) to the left of the camera to make the top of the camera point away from me, to my left.
And this works fine. My camera is securely attached, easy to pick up and replace. I can move around freely without the need to always hold and protect my cameras with my hands. And I can wear my binoculars and back sac and they don't interfere with my cameras.
                    Very good!

I bought this belt for my step-father. We first saw the item being used at my wedding by one of the photographer. It is a great item if you have 2 or 3 cameras and would like an easy way of carrying them. the limitation is that the user will have issues when taking a seat because the camera lens point toward the back. Other than that it is a great product.

I carry two Nikon D90 cameras, both with battery packs because I do not like to change lenses in the field. I love the SpiderPro holister. My partner added the second holister following the instructions with no issues. I am a woman, 5'4" and the holister sits nicely on my hips and I carry the cameras far more comfortably than I did with them around my neck. They feel secure when in the holisters. I highly recommend this product. It is expensive, but very well made. Neck pain from carrying heavy cameras is no fun.

I shoot wedding all day and this is the best system i have ever used.
This a very comfortable way to shoot wedding, the cameras stay put when moving around and you have your arms and hands free to put bride and groom in the right pose without your cameras sliding off your shoulders or having to put them on the ground.

                            Kind regards,

I have never been a fan of camera straps, especially when I started carrying two bodies at once. Like many others, I decided to try the Spider Holster based on all the positive reviews. I honestly couldn't be happier with this system. The build quality is excellent, and I don't worry about the safety of my gear. Once you get the belt sized appropriately, it's a breeze to use. The largest setup I carry on one side is a Nikon D3 with 70-200 2.8 and a spedlight. It is not a problem at all. To me, the hanging position of the gear is no different than it was with a strap; you just don't have to deal with the annoying strap getting in the way. I highly recommend this system to anyone that is looking for an alternative to the traditional methods of carrying one or more cameras.

Comments about Spider Camera Holster SpiderPro Dual Camera System:

I've been having back pain and other issues as a result of lugging my cameras around for long hours at events. This helps relieve a LOT of the issues that I couldn't find relief from with any camera strap I tried.
