The Lorex LW292 Wireless System with SD DVR includes a 9" LCD monitor with a built-in recorder and 2 indoor/outdoor cameras. With multiple recording options, the system enables you to record videos in manual, motion, and schedule mode with time and date stamped for quick and easy retrieval.
While supporting a resolution up to 640 x 480 at 10 fps or 320 x 240 at 25 fps, the 9" LCD monitor also allows you to view real-time videos from anywhere by connecting the monitor to a computer using Skype. Featured 2-way audio communication support enables you to communicate with the visitors from the operator's base station. The monitor can be mounted on a wall, tabletop, or under-counter.
With a CMOS image sensor and a 4.5mm lens, the camera offers clear images at a resolution up to 640 x 480. It uses an IR cut filter to switch between color and B&W as per the changes in ambient lighting. A minimum illumination of 0 lux (IR on) makes the camera suitable for low-light surveillance. The camera can capture clear images in complete darkness at a range up to 40' (12 m).
The video monitoring system enables you to view multiple cameras simultaneously or in sequence, which can be expanded up to 4 cameras. Motion Detection triggers an alarm when motion is detected in a designated portion of the video display.

I have three cameras on the system. Two outside one inside. It doesn't like transmiting through brick walls, also will not pick up a car traveling above 25 MPH. Additional camera a little pricey but I have been very pleased and recomended it to others.

Comments about Lorex LW292 Wireless System with SD DVR:
User Friendly,But no way to control the volume independently on cameras. My cordless telephone has a better range than the cameras to the receiver. All three of the mounting points for the receiver have some sort of problem (can't mount the monitor vertical, picture frame mount of the receiver you can not mount flush b/c of the receiver's antennae, table stand mount is flimsy)

Comments about Lorex LW292 Wireless System with SD DVR:
Motion detection works only when the subject is within 5 feet of the camera, otherwise, you must record 24/7. Also, the box talked about how this system allowed remote viewing with smart phone and computer - alas only through skype, and only for one camera (basically, this entire security system amounts to a wireless webcam - except a webcam program has better motion detection).
Furthermore, while it can connect to 4 cameras, it can only record from one at a time and it only allows you to set one recording scheme. The screen saver does not display custom images, and will not work while recording. The camera connection is erratic - going from 4 to 0 bars every few seconds, making a clicking sound every time the connection changes.
One last complaint - While it won't detect real motion until you get very close to it, it will have a false positive every ten minutes or so.
Bottom line: This system is a waste of money unless you only need one camera and don't need motion detection. The cameras have an okay picutre, but the software for the system is terribly inadaquate.
