Comments about WindTech CM-90 Sony-Type Inverted Hot Shoe Adapter:

Used when I need to mount mics to the bottom of the camera (or when I need to make a camera mount into a microphone mount, I just add a 1/4-20 threaded ferrule (your local hardware store has them) to make it a "Make a camera tripod into a microphone mount")

Plenty of thread length on both ends. Lock nuts are well-threaded and good texture for handling, even with gloves.

The 1/4-20 stud is actually pin-stamped on the end that is inside the microphone adapter to keep it from being removed (Windtech sells this separately as an M-7 without the lock nut.) So with this one, you cannot unscrew the 1/4-20 male stud and just use the M-7 part.
