I have Hoya and B+W step-up rings, and this seems equal in performance to either. The finish isn't as fine as the B+W which has knurling along the outside edge, making it slightly easier to grip and turn. Nor is the inside as flat a finish, to minimize reflections, but the threading is smooth and tight, and doesn't bind. It seems an adequate piece with no flaws.

Comments about Sensei 62-77mm Step-Up Ring:

Most of my pro lenses are 77mm in objective lens diameter. I have also quite a few that have 62mm as their filter size my filters Are mostly 77mm and they now fit the smaller diameter lenses. I use step down adapters quite a lot and then stick with a 77mm filter collection.

The step-up rings are very handy, as they allow you to buy one set of filters, and use them on all of your lenses, regardless of their filter size. Seems well made and sturdy.

Purchased for use of a 77mm polarizer on the Fuji 55-200 lens. Lighter weight threads so you just have to be careful when using.

When it comes to step up rings, I have tried all the price ranges. From expensive (30+) to inexpensive. There is no major difference other than the material, a fancy laser etched logo and a little knurling (for grip). These aluminum rings work just as well as the more expensive brass ones.As always with all filters and screw like things, don't cross thread and, don't over tighten. PopThe threading is smooth and secure on your Nikon, Hoya, and B+W filters. If there is anywhere you want to save a dollar, this is the place you can do it, step up rings.

I standardized my filters at 77mm. The step up ring allows me to screw any filter I have onto my Nikon 105 macro with no problems at all. The product is well made, light, and screws on and off easily.

Comments about Sensei 62-77mm Step-Up Ring:

I use step-up rings predominately to mount a larger diameter circular polarizer or ND filter onto a smaller diameter lens thread - this saves me from having to purchase different sized filters (typically costing several hundred dollars each). I've used most of the top brand step-up rings made from different metals and I am always pleasantly surprised when a significantly less expensive product performs near enough to the premium-priced alternative. Sensei rings screw on and off with relative ease, they feel sturdy enough, are adequately labelled and do the job admirably.

It works by allowing use of a 77mm filter on a lens with a 62mm filter diameter. Why pay hundresd for a new set of filters when a step-up ring costing less than [$] will let you use the filters you already have?

I was worried about the low price on these but I wanted five different rings to use on a 77mm Hoya R72 that I picked up used. The sensei rings are working fine so far with no complaints. I won't be putting a lot of use to them so I think they'll last.
