It is lightweight and sturdy. Threads are pricisely made. This helps me to mount my 67mm lens to a 82mm mounting need.

Comments about Sensei 67-82mm Step-Up Ring:

The ring is inexpensive but does function satisfactorily. I agree with another review that the threads can have a rough feel when putting onto the lens. I've gotten it stuck a couple times but have always been able to get it off (carefully and patiently). I no longer tighten the ring much at all.

Comments about Sensei 67-82mm Step-Up Ring:

Works well. The threads can have that gritty feel when you're screwing it onto your lens but it works just fine. I've gotten it stuck a couple times but have always been able to get it off again. However, that has happened to me with more expensive rings. No need to pay more...this one works great.

No issues at all. Threaded smoothly and fit was tight to both the Canon lens and the Schneider filters.

                      Best value vs performance option

Comments about Sensei 67-82mm Step-Up Ring:

I use step-up rings to accommodate larger filters wide enough in diameter to use with all my lenses. I own several brass step-up rings along with other top-of-the-line step-up rings costing much, much more (ridiculous really). I'm pleased to say that all of the Sensei step-up rings I own screw on securely and smoothly. Machining tolerance seems to be just fine. Although the Sensei rings I own are well made, they are also a tad lighter (being made of aluminium) and perhaps not as robust as brass rings. Nonetheless, treat them gently and Sensei rings will serve you well for many years. Tip: when fitting rings to a lens or another filter, do not 'squash' the outer sides - this creates resistance in the screwing action and can deform the ring permanently. Instead, pinch the ring to turn it or press on the ring from the front edge using only skin 'grip' pressure to rotate it. If you cannot remove the ring with skin pressure alone, you've probably tightened the ring way too much in the first place. Another tip: very carefully dab drops of silicon solution (not oil) on ring threads and allow to dry. This eases the screwing action and helps remove overly tightened rings. Overall, I give this product 4 stars because it will never be as robust and forgiving as a premium brass ring ... but for price vs performance, I'd rate Sensei step-up rings a whopping 6 stars. Excellent value. Highly recommended.
