Comments about Midland HH50 Pocket Weather Alert Radio:

I keep this weather radio on my living room table near by chair during the more extreme weather seasons. It gives me updates on the progress of each storm. I can go to any room in my two story house and get good reception. The sound is good and it seeks out the local station. The on/off switch is the only control that gets used.

Comments about Midland HH50 Pocket Weather Alert Radio:

A great radio for a great price. I bought one for each car, just for emergency weather conditions. I will order another for my mother. They lock on to your local emergency frequency immediately.

Comments about Midland HH50 Pocket Weather Alert Radio:

This is my first weather radio. I did need the more expensive ones with an AM/FM radio. This device is inexpensive, portable and very easy to use. It's also made by a company known for their weather radios. I have already recommended this product to a friend. I've also tested the radio and the warning siren will wake the dead, which is good. This product does what it is supposed to do.

Comments about Midland HH50 Pocket Weather Alert Radio:

I have had a few radios that claim to have the weather band , but none have worked at all. This weather radio works pretty well, though not quite as well as my ham radio that also gets the weather channel.

It does not display the station it is on, and pushing the scan button is the only way to change frequencies. During a test on Mt. Hood it moved between three very clear weather channels in sequence. My Ham radio received 4 to 5 channels though.

It is much smaller and lighter than it appears, fits easily in a T-shirt pocket with just the tip of the antenna showing if at all.

Pictures show it with AA batteries for scale, and a pen. Antenna retracts into a sturdy top.

Comments about Midland HH50 Pocket Weather Alert Radio:

When it transpired that my wife's new car did not have a weather band equipped radio, the search was on for an alternative. The Midland HH50 pocket radio turned out to be the perfect solution. It automatically seeks out the strongest signal and reception has been excellent. We haven't tried the alert function. Be aware: You must supply 3 AAA batteries to power the radio.
