I'm a guy. I was at the NYC B&H store and I didn't buy these women's gloves by accident. There was a rebate for this item when I was there for vacation so I went to this NYC attraction and decided to make a purchase as an experience.

The staff there was so nice, guided me to pick the best pair of gloves I needed and since I have very small hands I ended up with these.

My thumb is a little short but overall it fitted my hands really well and let me endure the cold weather in NYC with my hands holding the camera the whole time. I did not miss a single shot!

I love these gloves! The material on the palm allow me to grab my camera firmly. The two open finger design let me access button on my camera. It blocks the wind pretty well too.

The only thing I dislike: comparing to wool gloves and other typical gloves, these are not very warm.

I bought these gloves for wildlife, especially bird, photography and I feel that they are not well suited for that activity. I find them bulky and stiff and any movement results in a soft rustling sound which is not terrific when you are trying not to draw attention to yourself. They are probably fine for activities that don't require stealth and a high degree of manual dexterity. They are warm and thick and I've been using them for dog-walking and other outdoor activities. I also feel that they run small. I generally wear size small but that size was too tight on me. Fortunately, B&H was helpful in exchanging them for a medium.

I love the gloves! Have not used them in cold weather yet, but handled my DSLR with them easily. I love the way the index and thumb tips open and fold over (secured by magnets to get them out of the way, thus making camera controls easy to use. The fabric is high quality and inside of the palm is grippy. They feel good, fit well and have a waist line at the wrist. I look forward to wearing them in the British Isles!

I like it how it snug and fits nicely on my hands. It kept me warm for a while until I opened the tips to shoot. I get cold easily so maybe there isn't a true stay warm gloves no matter what is the insulation. I wore it in New York in the last week of December.

These gloves keep my hands warm while getting ready to take photographs, then I can bare the finger and thumb to use the shutter button and to set focus. The magnets do a good job of holding the glove tips out of the way. They are comfortable and the stretch makes them flexible enough to efficiently hold my equipment. Only problem is the finger and thumb tips are not as warm as a closed glove would be. But it is an acceptable trade-off for having my whole hand frozen!

Comments about Freehands Women's Stretch Gloves (Medium, Black):

These gloves are great, exactly as described - but they are a bit stiff, so they limit finger mobility while you're wearing them - so texting quickly isn't really an option. For photography and basic phone operation, though, they're great!

Comments about Freehands Women's Stretch Gloves (Medium, Black):

I've only worn these a few times. Seem to be wind proof, waterproof, warm, and a good tight glove. Only negative is that the openings for thumb and index finger on the right glove is small and I struggle to expose finger tips and to get them back into the glove. I could try a large, but my fingers are not that long.

She has no negative comments about the gloves.

These are sturdy gloves. However, for thinsulate, they are not very warm. Some of the finger flaps do not stay closed completely and others are difficult to open. I much prefer those with a mitten that closes over the fingers. I have photographed at -28º in Alaska and these gloves would never make it there.

Love that they keep my hands warm and still give me the freedom to work my camera controls. The finger covers are easy to slip back and forth and you can even partially cover the finger. Perfect!

These gloves keep your fingers warm but flip the tips back and the camera functions are at your tips. I will buy another pair when these wear out.

I bought these before the holidays to try out and I like them for the most part. The only real issue I have with them is that the 'caps' of the thumbs keep pulling back/slipping off my finger when working. I think if it had a little more of an over lap it would stay better.

We used our gloves at a night shoot at the Botanic Gardens Light Display.

Loved that I could use my camera without taking off my gloves. Worked great.
However after about 45 minutes my fingers got cold even with the gloves on so I quit early to go warm up.
I think on days or nights when it is not so cold the gloves will be terrific.

I ordered a Med. but the palm area didn't quite cover my hand and the magnet on my index finger hurt my knuckle...thinking maybe the magnet is in the wrong place because the glove is a bit small. I went to the mfg site and it says the gloves fit snug and if you want more room order 1 size larger...unfortunately I didnt visit the mfg site until after I received the gloves. Waiting for the replacement gloves to arrive. Overall quality seems good and they feel warm enough for my area weather. I could use a glove liner if I needed more warmth for my fingers.

I've been looking for winter gloves that would still allow me to handle a digital camera. These do the trick. Unfortunately for me, I have small hands and only the medium was available which leaves me with a bit too much finger material (some reviewers said the gloves ran small, so I though the sizing might work. Not quite..which is why I give this 4 instead of 5 stars). On other drawback is that the fold-back material is a bit thinner than the rest and not as warm when closed.
But basically, these gloves the do the job.
