The MicroSync II VM2TR Wireless Transmitter/Receiver Kit is a super lightweight system with a tiny form factor which can easily be your solution to a tangle of PC cords in the studio or on location.
The kit includes both a transmitter and receiver capable of firing your strobe from distance of 200'. Just slip the tiny transmitter on your camera and plug the receiver into your flash with one of the 4 provided plug adapters. Select a channel (there are 16) and you're ready to shoot. Forget about on/off switches; there aren't any. This smart system goes on instantly the second you hit the shutter release and automatically shuts down when not in use, dramatically extending battery life. The transmitter's CR2032 battery lasts up to 3 years while the receiver's 2-AA batteries last a year. The system, which operates on 433MHz, has a maximum focal plane flash sync of 1/200 sec (depending on the camera in use) and a maximum leaf shutter sync speed of 1/350 sec.
Besides flash, the MicroSync II can also fire most DSLR cameras which have an electronic shutter release input. Just add the optional, dedicated camera cord. It's great for wildlife or surveillance.

This is a fantastic alternative to the ultra expensive radio triggers from other manufacturers. It's inexpensive but works wonderfully well! The range is great, the consistency is top notch. It works with multiple types of connections. I use this on a Novatron pack. It plugs into the pack and the transmitter slides into the hotshoe of the camera. It has a test button so that I can test the lights from the camera, and all adjustments for the lights are made on the pack itself.
Really great setup, especially indoors if you are working on a budget. Good build quality, excellent performer. You don't have to spend hundreds of dollars for good, reliable radio triggers. This does the trick! And if you reverse the trigger with the receiver, you can fire your camera remotely.
I highly recommend!

The first one I received was intermittent and failed to fire about every 7th time. When it misfired it would misfire two or three times, then start working again. This problem has been documented a couple times by others here in these B&H reviews. I exchanged the first system with a replacement system. The second one failed about every 10 times, and when it failed it would fail two or three times in a row. So I have returned that one for a full credit. I am a pro photographer, have three Canon bodies and 8 mono lights from two different manufacturers. Both MicroSync systems failed on all three of my Canon bodies, and failed with both manufacturers of my monolights. For the first MicroSync system I actually installed new batteries in both the transmitter and the receiver, but it still failed intermittently. I own an old version of the MicroSync and I love it and it works perfectly, except I have broken the receiver's ¼ inch jack three times and have had to epoxy glue it. It still works great. So here is one more disappointment I'll mention, when the new MicroSync system failed for me, I called MicroSync customer service to ask if they are aware of this intermittent failure problem. The customer service rep said she never heard of the problem. I told her the problem was fairly well documented in the reviews at B&H Photo. She said we don't read reviews on-line, we don't read the B&H reviews!

Comments about MicroSync II VM2TR Wireless Transmitter/Receiver Kit:
This is my second purchase of micro sync. My husband accidentally broke the receiver while packing our equipment for an out of town session ( he thought he had to push down on it instead of just pulling it out!).
Cool thing is, it still worked! I've used it taped back together for over 3 years now but finally decided to replace it and give it a rest.
Pros: fast, light weight, can keep up with my trigger finger, portable and reliable. Mostly, it's not complicated to set up and use.
Cons: keep your spouse away from it...
