Comments about C2G Trulink USB Infrared PC Media Remote (Black):
I have a cable capture card in my PC so I can watch television on one of my 2 monitors. I make my living programming and graphics so I use one monitor to work and the other to watch TV. I purchased this remote thinking I could control the television program of my PC without having to navigate to the TV program. This is not possible.
GOOD:
Installed in Windows 7 64bit easily and worked with the Windows Media Center and general functions.
BAD:
The remote only works if I am inside the Windows Media Center program. If I am watching TV on one monitor and working in another program like MS Word or PowerPoint the remote won't work. I have to click in the Windows Media Center program and then the remote works. This negates the whole reason I purchased the remote. I wanted to be able to program and work while the remote would function like a TV remote without leaving my productivity programs.
I consider myself a savvy computer user so I looked for a solution. I am unable to find a way to program the buttons on the remote to work specifically with one program or general windows settings. The manufacturer website is not helpful and difficult to navigate. In the end found there is little to no support for the product.
Final Analysis:
If you are using your computer for TV or DVD only and you will be sitting on a couch the product may be a solution for you. However, I wasted my money and time with this purchase to use as a TV remote with my PC while I work in other programs. I boxed the remote and USB adapter up and is in storage with other PC hardware in hopes one day I will find a use for it.
Don't recommend buying this product.
