The 3 Legged Thing AirHed 1 Magnesium Plate is a quick-release camera plate for the company's AirHed 1 ball head. The plate features standard Arca-style grooves for easy, secure fastening to many other Arca-style heads, such as those from Really Right Stuff and other manufacturers.
The copper-brown plate is compatible with BlackRapid's R-Strap camera slings, by way of its FastenR-T1 camera screw. The 1/4"-20 camera screw's flip-up D-ring allows you to tighten it to your camera easily. This ring allows you to attach your camera to an R-Strap and quickly move it from around your neck or shoulder to a head without removing the sling.

I bought the plate to fit a Jobu Jr gimble head with an Arca-Swiss mount. The plan was to attach it to a Sigma 50-500 lens footplate that could be used with a BlackRapid sling and quickly switched to the gimble without having to remove the folding BlackRapid attachment ring. It does this well. The negatives are that it is wider than the footplate and it is made in Europe which produces an Arca-Swiss plate that is a couple of mm too narrow for US standard size Arca-Swiss. It takes a strip of gaffers tape on each edge to give an acceptable fit. Not an elegant solution.

The camera plate works as expected, I like that it works with the BlackRapid camera stap. I'm using this on a Canon 60D and it is a bit too large. A smaller version would be prefect.
