The Pocket XShot from XShot is a telescopic camera extender that allows you to take stable photographs of that most difficult of subjects to capture properly: Yourself.
The Pocket model of the company's eponymous XShot camera extender measures only 6.5" when collapsed – small enough to ride along in your back pocket – and extends telescopically to a maximum length of 30.5". Rather than smashing (most of) a face or two into the frame, you can now take roomy, flattering photos of yourself and a travel companion that actually capture the background.
The Pocket XShot bears loads up to 1.25 lb, so it works with any point & shoot digital camera with a timer function and with very compact shoot & share camcorders such as those from Flip, Contour, and GoPro.
The XShot features a 1/4"-20 screw on top to attach to almost any camera. Just twist the thumbscrew to lock a camera in the desired position. At the bottom is a 1/4"-20 thread, so you can mount your camera to a tripod without removing the Pocket XShot. That thread also accepts the included wrist lanyard.
Note! Not appropriate for DSLR cameras – 1.25 maximum load capacity

I use this while snowboarding with my GoPro camera. It's very light and collapses to almost nothing so I can stick it in my backpack.
The telescoping mechanism has a channel stamped into it to prevent the whole thing from twisting around from the weight of your camera. I was concerned about that problem, but apparently so were the designers and they nailed it.
I do find that I have to re-tighten the tripod mount screw and the pivot screw frequently, but so far it hasn't affected my filming.
The thing is very light, so I suspect the first time I clip a tree with it or fall on it, it will be toast. But that's nothing against the design, it's just a trade-off for an extremely lightweight and compact product.
I like carrying this better than my other telescoping GoPro pole because it collapses down so small.

I got this to film Snowboard and Ski with my GoPro. It's very small and light, which is mainly why I got this one instead of the bigger one. It fit easily in my pockets so I have no pole to carry around with me all the time. The only problem I have with it it's the "flimsiness". I knew it was thin and I don't expect much if I fall on it, the problem is how the extendable part "wiggle/rotate" on itself. It has 2 grooves on each side acting as slides. The tolerance for those groove is really loose. If those would be tighter (probably making it a bit harder to extend) it would wobble way less and make it a really nice steady extension pole.Still, it doesn't affect much going down the slope since skiing is quite a very shaky sport to start with!I really like the tripod mount hole at the bottom of the handle. I can see myself using it on my tripod for some very high shot. It's also pricy for what it is. I was expecting a more robust build quality. I've seen bigger extendable monopods (also?) made in china that cost $10 with a very similar build quality. I got 2 of those for me and a friend of mine and in the end, we're quite happy with it. I'd like it to be at least $10 less considering the build quality, but it's still a good product and it works for our needs.

Used while snowboarding with a GoPro on the end of it. The wrist strap was weak and broke the first day, I will have to tie it back on. Small, portable and easy to carry and use.

It's a great size for stashing in a pack, good quality materials, simple construction, easy and quick to use. I wish it was mounted on a simple swivel ball joint for infinite angle adjustment.

Comments about Pocket XShot:
This product is used for day hiking trips. It is a great way to get yourself in the shot with the scenery / background visible. It is light, holds a digital camera easily and doesn't require taking turns with hiking buddies or trying to find a rock or tree limb.
The construction feels a bit cheap, but the unit is inexpensive and light; so if it felt more solid I'd probably not want it in my pocket or backpack!
