Product Highlights
  • Telescopic Camera Extender
  • Improved Self-Photography
  • 37" Maximum Extension
  • Locking at Variable Lengths
  • Collapses to Only 9"
  • Works with Any Point & Shoot Camera
  • Also for Shoot & Share Video Cameras

The XShot 2.0 from XShot is a telescopic camera extender that allows you to take stable photographs of that most difficult of subjects to capture properly: Yourself.

The updated model of the company's eponymous XShot camera extender measures only 9" when collapsed – small enough to fit in any little day-trip bag – and extends telescopically to a maximum length of 37". Rather than smashing (most of) a face or two into the frame, you can now take roomy, flattering photos of yourself and a travel companion that actually capture the background.

The XShot 2.0 is something of a magic wand that you'll bring along to vacations and hiking/camping trips to capture yourself within the gorgeous scenery you were so excited to visit in the first place. No longer will you have to ask a stranger for help – but it'll still look like someone else took the photo! The XShot extender is also a game-changer for photography and video recording at concerts, graduations, and other standing-room-only events. At parties, you can easily get a shot of the entire room, rather than just the crush of people immediately in front of you.

The XShot 2.0 bears loads up to 1.25 lb, so it works with any point & shoot digital camera with a timer function and with very compact shoot & share camcorders such as those from Flip, Contour, and GoPro.

The XShot features a 1/4"-20 screw on top to attach to almost any camera. Just twist the thumbscrew to lock a camera in the desired position. A wrist lanyard is included to provide a line of defense in case your grip slips while you're shooting – an unlikely occurrence, given the grippy material on the shaft of the extender.

Note! Not appropriate for DSLR cameras – 1.25 maximum load capacity

Quick-spin knob for fast and secure mounting of the camera via the 1/4"-20 screw
No coins or screwdrivers required
Camera platform rotates 180°, so you can shoot from any angle. A thumbscrew locks a camera in the desired position
Durable metal shaft with comfortable non-slip grip coating
Wrist lanyard included for added security
Extended Length 37" (94.0 cm)
Closed Length 9" (22.9 cm)
Load Capacity 1.25 lb (570 g)
Weight 5.5 oz (156 g)

The metal extension pieces are nearly impossible to open and close after many uses. I've had mine for a long time and I can hard push it back in. I always clean it after using too so it's from neglect. Also the top part doesn't tighten any more and I can hardly loosen it either. So I tilt my camera up and down from the GoPro attachment and not the xshot. It seems to work fine but that's not how it's supposed to work. I would not purchase this again simply becasue the metal extensions are not meant for salt water.

This will make your shots very stable for still or video. You can raise your camera over a crowd or wall with this thing. Very durable. Using it on the street will make you appear very dorky and will make your friends uncomfortable. I highly recommend it!

I love this stick! It gets me great angles that would otherwise be impossible, it's strong, made of metal and compact for travel. It's also light and strong.

The only gripe I have is that since it is made of metal I'm not really willing to take it in the ocean because of the salt water.

                Comments about XShot 2.0:

Small and lightweight enough to be carried in a bicycle frame pack with my GoPro attached. Nice sticky grip. A little rotational play where the sections overlap, but not a real problem. Unique POV when handheld BUT I also wanted to mount the XShot to an UltraPod or UltraClamp. If the XShot was anything other than perfectly upright, the base would separate from the handle. The company has been great to work with. If they had a bike mount similar to their kayak mount, problem solved.

I recieved XShot 2.0 yesterday and toyed with it for several hours.
Once you master the proper positions for the shots you think you will be using the rest is easy.
I don't know how I got along without the Xshot 2.0.
Thank you B&H for the quick service.

                  Comments about XShot 2.0:

Great product. Best suited for regular camera's and maybe a super zoom.

Definately not for a DSLR. the rotating mechanism just cant stay up with the weight. If there was a locking mechanism thats not pressure based (maybe a gear kind) it might work.

The connections are a little wobbley.

I wanted it for my D5200. My mistake I never read the not for SLR part in the product description.

It's a little heavier than others but that's the reason why gives you an impression of a solid well built stuff.

It could come with a smartphone holder, then It would be unbeatable!

I've been stymied by the not-so-good selfies I've taken in the past and when I heard about this camera extender I was excited to finally get something to help me get some good, 'keeper', pictures of our adventures.

It does that and more. I took it on a recent trip to the State Capitol and had a blast with it. It enabled me to take some very good selfies where I wouldn't have been able to before. And it's a lot of fun.

I would totally recommend it for any family, couple, or just a single guy on an adventure that they wanted to remember.

I use the XShot for video blogging. After extending your arm for long periods of time, hurting a bit, and THEN getting a monopod like this, you really ask yourself "why have I not used this before?".
Sure, you might not be getting as good of a workout, but it's still pretty great.

Bottom line: This is a great thing to have if you work with small, somewhat lightweight cameras. It feels good, looks good, and of course, does what it's supposed to do very well.

You don't want to overload it but for GoPro style light weight cameras it works great. A little practice helps keep the horizon level and the subject in the center of the shot. It also is good to give a shot a different perspective such as walking through a forest of wildflowers.

I got this to use for my GoPro, when not mounted to my bike. AWSOME item. I even started using it with my pocket camera to help steady my shots. Great when your in a crowd and want to video over the crowd. The size is good to carry all day long on your person or backpack.

I purchased this product to use in an unconventional way. I wanted to have a portable light stand for my Fuji X100S. Because the Xshot has a 1/4 20 thread on the bottom of the handle it makes a perfect extension to go on top of a Polaroid tripod. Both units collapse down to about 14" which is perfect to carry in my small bag. Because the Polaroid tripod is too short to use as a lightstand, I place the Xshot on top of the tripod to give me the height I need. Using a small flash like the EF-X20 allows me to have an off camera flash whenever I need one. The product is well made and does not rotate about itself due to the grooves machined into the shafts. In the event I do not want to use the tripod, I can hand hold the flash and take an effective off camera flash photograph.

This thing is built better than I expected. Although it is made of several telescoping sections, it holds its position securely when extended and doesn't wobble uncontrollably. It feels solid and compacts nicely when not in use.

If you have steady hands, you can use it to get shots for which you'd otherwise need a slider or a jib. You can also brace it against your chest to steady the camera. It is very versatile for getting decent video while traveling light.
