Comments about Tascam MD-CD1MKIII Combination CD Player and MiniDisc Recorder:

I actually bought this as a back-up to my venerable Sony JB940, which I have been using for several years in my voiceover audio production studio. I just have room for one of these in my recording console, so I took out the Sony and installed the Tascam for a trial run and I really like it much better. I like having an extra CD player which will play CD-RWs (some don't) and I use these quite a bit when I'm putting together a spot. There is a greater "learning curve" on this machine and I like the fact that I can control it using a PS2 keyboard, although a wired remote might have been nice. If you're looking for a new mini disc recorder, this is the one to buy, not just because it is good but also because it's about the only one left!

Comments about Tascam MD-CD1MKIII Combination CD Player and MiniDisc Recorder:

We use this for our home base business singing for the Sr citizens at assisted living complexes. They can't pay us... so the price was very important to us.Like being able to transfer the CD to Mini disc Seems as a back up for us. Think I'd rather have...I know I have not seen one but would like tray for the mini disc also instead of putting it in a slot. we have found on other recorders players where the CD slides into a slot and if they hang up sometimes are not able to retreave.over all great machine have depended on Tascam for 15 years this is our 4th machine. It gets a lot of use

Comments about Tascam MD-CD1MKIII Combination CD Player and MiniDisc Recorder:

MD Player/recorder just what I was looking for to replace my (16 year) old one that died. Very glad to have found one in such pristine condition after all this time. Format has been discontinued for several years now, but this new unit allows me to copy all my old MD's to CD, hopefully a more stable format, i.e., will be around for awhile. Only drawback is, when ejecting MD's it sometime "spits" them across the room, instead of just pushing them gently out. But this is easy to overcome, just by catching the disks as they eject. Are there any more where this came from? MD's are a format much favored by disc jockeys. Thanks again for fine product and service. Bill Blau

Comments about Tascam MD-CD1MKIII Combination CD Player and MiniDisc Recorder:

It's great that it reads ALL types of cds...Rs, RWs & mp3s. Also the continuous play feature and the separate outputs for CD & MD. One & only one downside that I've found is that you have to go thru the menu to clear a previous "program" selection.
