Comments about Sennheiser HMD 280-XQ Dual-Ear Headset with Supercardioid Boom Microphone:

I have been broadcasting for several years now and this is easily the best headset I've ever used. You could wear these for hours and they remain very comfortable. I work in noisy gyms for most of the broadcasts and the boom mic picks up my voice up easy and clearly without having to yell. My only con is that there is no travel case but I can't complain outside of that. Just a excellent choice if your looking for a pro headset that will enhance your broadcast. Just plug and play!

Comments about Sennheiser HMD 280-XQ Dual-Ear Headset with Supercardioid Boom Microphone:

Well made and durable headset, but it is heavy and has too much clamping force to be comfortable over long periods. I was un-impressed with the microphone, which has low output volume and is just a bit thick sounding to my ears. Earphone receiver (i.e. earphone speaker) quality is superb.

I returned this set, and purchased the AudioTechnica BPHS-1 - which I love and use for hours daily. It is more comfortable, less weight, less (but enough) clamping force, and sounds better (at least the mic is better - the earphone speakers are about equal - I have no objection to the listening side of the Sennheiser set... but the mic left me totally uninspired.)

I have a pile of other headsets I liked better, including the AudioTechnica BPHS-1, Shure SM-2, KOSS 3000, Sennheiser HMD-45-6, Superlux HMD-660, and more.

Just MY take - your mileage may vary.

Comments about Sennheiser HMD 280-XQ Dual-Ear Headset with Supercardioid Boom Microphone:

I run livestreams for video game tournaments and recently purchased two of these headsets for commentary on my stream. The price was steep, though soon proved to be well worth it. Everyone that has commentated on my stream since purchasing them have loved them!

They are light weight, yet still feel durable and won't break. The audio quality is superb, and providing audio intake and feedback all in a single package provides a great convenience. They are comfortable to wear for long periods, which is a must.

The only downside to this product is that the cord is not too long. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it can easily be solved with an extension cable and it is still long enough out of the box for almost all of my events, and the cable length was still made clear at the time of purchase. Still, these are amazing headsets if you are looking for some professional audio equipment, especially for livestreaming.
