I was looking for a player to replace my ipod that died. I found this and it was everything I wanted and more! It may be small but the sound quality is amazing, the bass is perfect and the ear buds are comfortable. I actually llike it more than my ipod. Small light weight and gets the job done. I get everything I had on my ipod for less than half the price!

Meets my high expectations for sound amplification and sound quality. Interface is improved. Battery life is claimed to be 50 hours. WM Port is much appreciated (line out for headphone amp when needed). Sony Music Unlimited integration was a pleasant surprise, although could be more straightforward - you have to 1) install Media Go (installer is stored on the Walkman), 2) sign up for Sony Music Unlimited at the web site on the packaging, 3) install firmware and Music Unlimited transfer software. The service enables you to subscribe to different music channels and update the music on the Walkman. Integration between Media Go and Music Unlimited might be smarter approach. Capabilities are outlined below (handles multiple sample rates, including, of course, 44.1k): Format Max bit Rate Max Sample Rate MP4 320k 48k MP3 320k 48k 3gp 320k 48k WMA 48k WAV 1,536,000 48k AAC 576,000 48k So it can handle CD-quality sound files, and possibly DVD-audio quality as well. This is a good solid unit that comes bundled with better headphones than most. It provides superior sound to most cell phones and MP3 players. Sony Music Unlimited integration is a pleasant surprise and frankly makes this a much better buy than competing phones and players.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I use my MP3 players to listen to books I download from the library. I have a NWZ-A816 which is several years old that resumes playing where you were when you turned the player off. My newer and fancier NWZ-E464 will only hold your place for about 24 hours. Other than that drawback, I do like it.

The Sony Walkman MP3 player works perfectly. I used it normally and also hooked into my car stereo. The product that this replaced couldn't shuffle the music. I've had no problems getting the Sony to shuffle the music. Battery lasts super long which is really nice.

For the money, this little Mp3 player is fantastic. I have never had one before and the rest of my family has Ipod touches but I didn't want all the fancy, I just wanted something to listen to music on and this is the greatest.

It is a sound device with a clear picture and sound. We got this for my 4 year old and she loves it. Just wish we could load movies easier. Love the hold button so she doesn't skip songs by accident.

I bought this with low expectations as most people would because it is an "off brand" mp3 or should i just say, it isn't an Ipod. However after using it for a while I can say that it is a great deal. The Clear Stereo and Dynamic Normalizer setting are a standout for this product because they make a noticeable difference. The battery life was of course "exaggerated' by sony but it still has a good battery life. After a few weeks of careful usage I will say that the body of it look very scratched and even the screen is scratched a little bit more than it should be.
