Comments about Kodak 3 x 3" #90 Dark Gray Amber Wratten 2 Optical Gel Filter:

The Wratten No. 91 filter was recommended by Ansel Adams as a viewing filter for B&W photography. The color of the filter is a dark khaki yellow-green. The filter largely neutralizes and renders color values as "luminosities" (how bright / how dark relative to one another), so the photographer can readily see how a B&W photograph might look, whether photographed digitally or with film. The filter has great value for photographers new to B&W and serious amateurs alike. The filter can be mounted in a suitable frame to protect it. This filter is very difficult to obtain now and B&H appears to be the only source for this valuable addition to a B7W photographer's kit.
