    Great little unit

Comments about Atlona VGA to Component / Component to VGA Converter Scaler:

When we upgraded our video system, being in a PAL country, I was disappointed to discover our stage monitors wouldn't accept a 50Hz input via VGA, they would only take 60Hz. This scaler solved the problem for us by converting our video signal to 60Hz for our stage monitors. We're actually inputting VGA and outputting VGA, it isn't converting to or from Component, it's just acting as a scaler and it's working well. Noticed the menu system is the same as the menu system on our Kramer presentation switchers.

Comments about Atlona VGA to Component / Component to VGA Converter Scaler:

If you use Component Video in your setup, and need to switch or change from another device to show a computer video screen from its VGA output, then this is the device for you.

To configure, connect the output to a generic VGA screen, and set the profile. Eg 576i. Then disconnect and connect it to your setup. It remembers the profile setting.

Any Video conversion device looses some quality, and this device would be the same, but as good as I have seen for converting VGA to Component. Seems to be equivalent to the startech and the same firmware etc. May even be the same on the inside.

Comments about Atlona VGA to Component / Component to VGA Converter Scaler:

Compact, inexpensive, and very versatile conversion and scaling. We use our to convert PCs (VGA) over to 1080i60 HD video for broadcast insertion. Multiple options for letterbox, zoom and pan/scan in just about every common output format available.

Menus only show up on the output port (not loop through connector). Our unit was set for PC output out-of-the-box, so you may need to find a VGA monitor to do the initial setup if your component HDTV device doesn't recognize VGA. Simple menu system with scaling and video adjustment options
