The Schneider PC TS Makro-Symmar 90mm f/4.5 Lens (For Canon EOS) gives you the same types of controls used by large format cameras to control perspective, but for your Canon EOS camera. There's both a parallel shift to reduce or eliminate converging lines or perspective distortion ("keystone correction") and a swinging or tilting of the lens according to Scheimpflug's rule to better utilize depth of field (DOF) without an increase in diffraction from stopping down the aperture further and reducing sharpness.

Parallel shift and lens swing or tilt can be carried out independently of one another in any desired direction (vertically, horizontally or obliquely) thanks to separate rotary mounts. This 90mm f/4.5 Super Angulon lens combines exceptional reproduction quality with a large 90mm image circle and excellent adjustability. The exceptionally large image circles allow for full tilt and shift movements at any position in the lens rotation with no possibility of vignetting.

Comments about Schneider PC TS Makro-Symmar 90mm f/4.5 Lens (For Canon EOS):

I have been shooting macro for years. My studio shoots for medical companies and we routinely shoot images of ver tiny implants and instruments. We've used Canon, Rodenstock, Nikon, Olympus and even Zeiss microscope lenses, and none have approached the quality of this lens. Chromatic aberration is totally non-existent, sharpness beats our Zeiss 135mm Makro Planar by far. Images taken on the a Canon EOS 5D Mk II consistently beat out those taken with the Zeiss 135 and Phase One back back combo. Tilts and shifts greatly expand the usefulness of this lens. I have to say that this is absolutely best lens I have ever used. It's expensive, but worth every penny. It's also a big, big lens.

Comments about Schneider PC TS Makro-Symmar 90mm f/4.5 Lens (For Canon EOS):

I finally got my hands on the Schneider-Kreuznach PC-TS. After a long time of research I decided to buy it instead of the TS-E 90mm from Canon. I made this choice because with the Schneider I'm able to control tilt and shift independently and because it seems to be (and in fact is) a very well made product.

The image quality is just amazing!!! The colors it capture are stunning, the contrast is amazing and the sharpness is superb! The lens is perfect in all aspect, it's way better of what I expected and I was expecting something really outstanding!

I have some Canon L series lenses (24-105mm and 100mm macro) and for me they were perfect, but after use this lens and compare the results at 100% it's like having a new camera. Even at 100% the sharpness and details are incredible.

After one day with it I decided to test the lens on a food photo shoot and everything worked just perfectly! The mechanical parts of the lens are very well made and works fine too. As a plus, the body is aluminum made, so it must last for a long time!

It brings a lot of new possibilities to my work.

About the price, it's not cheap, but for serious and professional work, it's a very good choice!

Comments about Schneider PC TS Makro-Symmar 90mm f/4.5 Lens (For Canon EOS):

I ordered this after reading some reviews from around the internet. It's pricey, but Canon's own 90mm TSE just doesn't cut it for my purposes.

I'm using a Hartblei HCam B1 with this lens with a Leaf Aptus-II 12. The 90mm PC TS has more than enough image circle to allow up to 12mm of shift in all directions -- on a 645 digital back. It's incredibly sharp, contrasty, and as far as I can tell, even shifted, has excellent geometric characteristics. As to say, lines stay straight.

On a Canon EOS body, however, this is likely overkill. I can't see anyone needing this much image circle for a 24x36mm frame.

Comments about Schneider PC TS Makro-Symmar 90mm f/4.5 Lens (For Canon EOS):

I've been shooting close-ups commercially for 28 years and have used a variety on lenses from Nikon, Canon, Sinar, and Zeiss, and none have come up to the quality of this lens. It's much sharper than my 150mm and 135mm Zeiss Makros. There is no color fringing and images are tack sharp. Illumination is exceptionally even at even the most extreme tilt and shift settings. The lens takes some getting use to, but it's no big deal. It is huge, though and the front lens element is deeply recessed within the barrel. I'm buying the 500 mm TS lens next.
