The Nexto DI 750 GB NVS1501 Photo and Video Storage for Pro DSLR / Canon Cinema EOS Camcorders provides your Pro DSLR camera or Canon Cinema EOS camcorder with 750 GB of instant data storage - ideal for on location work. The NVS1501 features SD/SDHC/MMC/SDXC, CF/MD, and Memory Stick/MS Pro-HG/MS Pro MagicGate slots for direct transfer from your card.
In addition to storing important files, which frees up your memory cards for more shooting; the NVS1501 also allows you to copy your files onto other devices, such as USB drives or memory cards, using an external card reader or the optional Ikegami GFPAK. Data can be copied to external hard drives as well using the appropriate connection. Data can additionally be burned to Blu-ray Disc using the NVS1501.
Nexto DI gave this device safety features as well; such as shock protection, in the form of a built-in free-fall sensor and rubber bumpers. Bad sector recovery is another feature that will ensure your peace of mind, by recovering data from bad sectors and moving it to a safe sector. When it comes to powering the NVS1501 various methods can be employed. The internal battery can be recharged via the FireWire 800 cable, USB cable, or AC adapter, or the 'AA' battery holder can provide power, among other options.

Each bit is verifiedSafe Copy: Before copying data, the NVS1501 verifies that its hard drive area is safe. If a bad sector is detected, a new, safe area is found - then copying (Fast Copy) will begin

- Making a Secondary Copy to USB Hard Drive

User can generate (sync) a second copy onto an external USB HDD. Export internal data to an external USB hard drive without needing a laptop. Each time you plug in an external USB hard drive to the NVS1501, any files recorded since the last sync will be transferred. Automatically compare the video folders by file names and sizes
The wall power adapter should be connected to both the NVS1501 and the USB external hard drive. Supports copy from USB card reader or GFPAK using USB host connectivity through eSATA/USB combo port

Success (or Failure) FeedbackNext time you switch on the NVS1501, it will display the previous backup result, in order to help the user to determine the deletion of data stored on the memory card

Honestly, I thought I had orderd the wrong thing when it arrived. The container box was bigger than I expected it to be. But, once I opened it, charged up the battery, plugged in my first CF card for my Canon 5D Mark III, I was in love... :0)
You don't get anything easier to use than this device. The only thing I would change is to make the viewing screen larger.
AS a side note. I used my Nexto DI to store the pictures from over 30 memory cards, many of which we 32GB's each. Thousands of pictures... and it never needed to be charged for the whole month's trip! Get yourself one... and love it like I do!

I SAVE MAY PICTURES ON THE NVS1501, ITS PRETTY COOL. I WOULD OF PUT SPRINGLOADED DOORS ON TOP & BOTTOM.THE SCREEN SHOULD BE 3"OR 4".
