Comments about Bower Digital Slide Duplicator:
Out of the box it produced very poor image quality, to fix it I threw away the plastic lens and mounted the tube on a 100 mm f2.8 macro lens with a 58 to 52mm adapter ring. Used a 12mm and 25mm extension tube to bring the focus in. I also had to cut the Bower tube and lengthen it by about 1-3/8" to get the right size image. Mounted on my 5dmII and used an MT-24EX twin macro flash to light a white wall about 12" from the slide. Shot in RAW at 21 mp the images are very good. I intend to use this setup to scan about 200 slides. If you don't want a science project, or if you have a lot of slides it may be better to buy a dedicated scanner or send the slides out to a service.

Comments about Bower Digital Slide Duplicator:
Poor quality, made entirely of plastic, poor lense, only works with lens of 110 mm, slide holder jams and difficult to insert and remove. I'm sending it back ASAP.
