The portable and stylish Creative Labs D100 Portable Bluetooth Wireless Speaker (Black) is basically a modern day, wireless boombox for the next generation of young adults looking to express their individuality by sharing their favorite hip-hop beats, punk rock classics, indie tunes and straight rock'n'roll favorites with friends, family and the rest of the neighborhood. The speaker's modern aesthetic is as modern as its technology, and the Creative Labs Bluetooth integration supports Wireless Bluetooth Stereo (A2DP), as well as Bluetooth Remote Control (AVRCP).
The cool little speaker connects to any compatible Bluetooth-enabled device, which affords wireless stereo streaming from your compatible stereo systems, smartphones, laptops, notebooks, netbooks, tablets, and of course several iPods and other MP3 players. The D100 is equipped with Enhanced Data Rate or Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. Plus, it supports A2DP, AVRCP, and has a wireless operating range that can reach up to 33' (10 m) depending on how clear the line of sight is between the D100 and the audio source.
Creative Labs even designed a few adapters (sold separately) that can turn your non-Stereo Bluetooth computer into a fully functional stereo wireless Bluetooth-enabled device with the attachment of a USB transmitter. If your iPod suffers from the same problem, there's an adapter that connects to any Apple 30-pin dock adapter and turns any other iPod into a wireless streaming device capable of streaming stereo Bluetooth. Plus, just so everyone can hear you and your friends enjoying a sunny day in the park, the D100 has been accoutered with two powerful 3.0" drivers, which will have your party bumping. Creative Labs also outfitted the D100 with a battery power option that can deliver up to 25 hours of non-stop music running on only four AA batteries. With such a long lasting battery option, the party will never end before you're ready.

I use this portable Bluetooth speaker in my condo. I play music through it using my Nexus 7 tablet and my Asus notebook. I also watch TV reruns online on my notebook, and run the sound through the D100. The sound is very good, and the 3.5 inch drivers produce bass that is way better than the much smaller portable bluetooth speakers. The stereo separation is good. It's lightweight for it's size. The controls are easy to use. It doesn't have a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery, but it's not needed. It uses 4 AA batteries that will run it for 24 hours, which is much longer run time than a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery. I use rechargeable AA Ni-Cads. The D100 will also operate on an AC adapter that's included. The D100 pairs up and easily operates wirelessly with my Nexus 7. It pairs up with my Windows 7 notebook, but won't operate wirelessly with it. I may get this resolved eventually. I have to use a cable to connect the D100 with the notebook. Online googling revealed that Bluetooth devices have much difficulty working with Windows 7 computers. The D100 will not operate as a speakerphone, but I don't run it off a smart phone. It can be paired with only one device at a time. Some Bluetooth portable speakers can be paired with 2 devices at a time. The speaker grill is cloth which is fine around the house/patio/deck.But if you're going to travel with the D100, the cloth grill is a negative, and it doesn't have a carry case. The best sounding portable Bluetooth speaker I listened to was the Bose SoundLink at Costco (last year's model)for $[$] The sound and presence was very impressive, but at 3.5 times the price of the D100! For around the house and patio/deck, I don't think you can beat the D100's performance for the price.

I love this product and B & H. I use it mainly out on the deck when I am grilling and stream Pandora via bluetooth. It provides good sound, but could be a little louder when running on just battery power. One of the nicest features is that you can control the volume with your phone versus a having to go up to radio and adjust the volume. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

For the price, these speakers sound pretty good. It's lightweight and portable. It has ran on AA batteries for about 10 hours now, so battery life seems to be as advertised. The bluetooth connection was a breeze, so much in fact that I didn't even read the instructions to connect it to my GS3. If you are looking for a very simple and portable bluetooth speaker this will fit the bill.

Ordered the speaker on Sunday 2/24 and received it on Wed 2/27, that was fast! I set it up, the Bluetooth was paired fairly easily but could not figure why the sound was still coming out of laptop speakers. You have to get in your control panel/sounds and change the default speaker to the Creative. It has decent sound but I don't think it is as loud as it could be and I have the speaker on the highest but it will absolutely do. I am using batteries with it but it does come with a cord. This would be great if Creative made this with a cd player and radio.

I looked online for ratings for bluetooth speakers- I think on Cnet. This one can work on battery power, so you are never left without a charge. I plugged it in and followed the instructions to pair it with my iphone 5 and it worked right away. Nice, loud sound- has volume buttons on speaker and you can use your phone as well. Perfect for what I was looking for- easy , convenient speaker sound when I m playing music from my phone

Comments about Creative Labs D100 Portable Bluetooth Wireless Speaker (Black):
I love Creative products. I love the bluetooth feature and Yes, the sound volume drops a lot when compares to wired, but loud enough for my opened room 26' x 23'. The sound quality is great with plenty of depth for bluetooth technology. I love to play my music loud..too loud for most. Using my Dell inspiron 1525 laptop with wire connection, with volume 19 - 22 is loud. That's about the same with volume 85 - 100 thru bluetooth. All depends on the music and video recorded volume. I set the speaker with max volume and control the volume with the devices.
Distant doesn't matter to me since this is portable speaker and the batteries last forever. I use rechargable batteries. I bring it from room to room with music plays from my Samsung cell phone and laptop.
The auto bluetooth connection to my devices once they are set up, which is a breeze, makes it so convenience.
Love everything about it! Thinking to get another one for my basement, or maybe the D80 if I keep it in one place using the DC adapter since D80 is not portable but reviews said the rest is the same...maybe without the handle slot at the back. Won't matter if it stays stationary in one place.

Comments about Creative Labs D100 Portable Bluetooth Wireless Speaker (Black):
This thing is great. I like how it uses AA's vs an internal battery with short life. I bought this for my ice shanty. sometimes I am on the ice from morning until dusk. The competitor speakers of this size all offered internal batteries with 5 hour battery life or less. Not long enough for me. So far the battery life is great on this and the sound is very impressive for such a small box. You do get more bass out of it if you place it correctly in the room(suggest pointing the back end bass port towards a corner). I don't reccommend it for replacing a home theater system or anything. But if portable on the go low cost is what your looking for then pick this one up. The only thing that would make this speaker better is if they used a metal grill vs that fabric for durabiltiy. Also a FM tuner would be great if you exhaust your phone battery. but then you're talking a different product. so i do not rate it down at all for any of these things.

This bluetooth speaker is nicely designed and has decent sound.
It comes with an AC adapter for 110v power or uses (optional) household batteries. I like the fact it doesn't use built in batteries which render the speakers useless once they wear out.
None of our BT enabled devices in the house had a problem connecting. The sound is just below that of our wired Bose unit. For the money, the smart design and the portability it offers outstanding value.
The range in our house was 25 to 30 ft (8-10 m) on the same floor but through a couple of walls. Haven't yet tested the open air, no obstruction range.
I feel this speaker would get 5 stars if it had top notch sound although, for the money it is unreasonable to expect much more.

Comments about Creative Labs D100 Portable Bluetooth Wireless Speaker (Black):
For the money, this is a great bluetooth speaker/boombox. Sound quality is pretty good paired with an iPhone - if you listen closely you can tell it's not a wired connection, and it's not a super premium sound system, but it's just fine for background music, podcasts when you don't want to have your earbuds in, and other "light duty" stuff. It's great for taking out to the hot tub, cleaning the bathroom, and other places where you don't want to have your phone hooked up to your ears but still want some tunes.
It takes four AA batteries, which could be good or bad - on the plus side, AA rechargables are cheap, and if you run out of power you can always just throw in another set rather than finding the charger and an outlet. The battery life is really good at moderate volume, too. On the downside, it's not as light or thin as something that uses a built-in lithium ion, and batteries are not included.
Pairing with one device is super easy; hold the button down, find it on your phone, done. Multipairing is harder; it has a two-device memory, but you have to click the bluetooth button a few times to find the second device. I just think of it as paired to one device at a time, and it works OK. If you want to work with every phone in your family, you might want to look at other devices.
