I'm attaching some pictures I shot useing a SONY a6000. There's a good amout of aberration on the lens, but I think that's something you can minimize in Lighroom.

I had just bought this lens and as I practice with it I am getting better at it. I do think it is hard to focus the tripod is a must. I had taken a shot with it at full length around 1/4 mile and it was pretty sharp.

Comments about Rokinon 500mm f/8.0 Telephoto T-Mount Lens:

After experimenting with this a lens a little I have decided that it performs a better than some have posted. The physical length of the lens makes is pron to vibration which takes some time to settle down - the solution was to use the self timer set to 10 seconds if the subject permits, or a remote release if timing is an issue. Stopping the lens down to F11 or F16 sharpened up the image across the entire frame.

Comments about Rokinon 500mm f/8.0 Telephoto T-Mount Lens:

I ordered this lens with a T-mount adapter for my new Sony NEX-7, and I have to say I wasn't expecting it to perform as well as it does. It is solidly constructed, with no rattles or bad fit and finish; it was perfect out of the box.

While the images are somewhat soft and a tad less contrasty than those taken with my Sony E-mount lenses, the image quality is better than I expected it would be for such a long reach (and at this price point). I am still getting acquainted with the Rokinon, but I believe when the moon turns full again, I'll be getting some pretty good shots.

All in all, a good bang for my buck!

Comments about Rokinon 500mm f/8.0 Telephoto T-Mount Lens:

As with other Rokinon lenses that I own (14f2.8, 24f1.4 and 85F1.4), the Rokinon 500f8 combines high quality optics with excellent mechanical features. A tripod and shutter release are a must to get the best performance with this lens. Images are sharp with excellent contrast. Manual focusing is actually easier to use than most modern autofocus lenses, i.e. modern lenses can take a long time time autofocusing on distant objects because they are fooled into focusing on intermediate objects such as trees and bushes. The only reason I did not rate this lens with 5 stars is because there are a large number of excellent long lenses available with better optics and build quality but costing in the thousands of dollars.

I knew when I bought this that it wasn't going to be the greatest lens. I knew when I bought this that I shouldn't expect much. Everything I thought about this lens was true. Amazing price for any lens. Cheaply made. Not really the magnification of a 500mm. Hard to focus.

All that being said, the lens works and I think was worth the price. I don't expect to us it much, but when I do, I'll know it will do what it was made to do. Reach out and grab things from further out than I can now reach.

I've had this lens for about a month and as time goes by, my photos with it get better and better. I still strugle at times to get a crisp focus, but if you open the focus ring to let more light in as the instructions recommend, focusing is much easier. Lens is fairly light weight and for the money does a good job.

Comments about Rokinon 500mm f/8.0 Telephoto T-Mount Lens:

This Rokinon (Samyang) 500mm is a perfectly decent lens. For my documentary film style, which is of composed shots, this lens works very well, and I've gotten some beautiful shots. For a run-and-gun filmmaker or photographer, the limitations of the lens might be a problem. And it does have some definite limitations: f/8 at its fastest; no image stabilization; and no auto-focus. But, as a filmmaker, I find it very effective within those limitations. The lens is physically well-made, being of well-finished metal. I use a t-mount adaptor from Vivitar (probably also a re-branded Samyang) and the 2x adapter. An amazing value.
