I purchased 3 floating camera straps - the Vivatar, the Olympus and the Chums -since they were all pretty inexpensive and they all seemed to have good reviews and bad reviews. After trying out all 3 I decided the Olympus will go with me on my next snorkeling adventure with my new Nikon Coolpix AW100 (which I absolutely love but that's for another review). Here are my observations on all three straps. I ordered all 3 in yellow – the Vivatar was a kind of dingy orangish yellow while the other two were a bright yellow which I felt would be easier to spot so score 1 for Olympus and Chums. The Vivatar and Olympus both were easy to dry off while the Chums is made of a kind of spongy material which doesn't dry off right away so score one for Vivatar and Olympus. The Olympus and Chums fit my wrist very nicely where as I wasn't quite sure how to attach the Vivatar to my person. I thought the Olympus when it was cinched up fit my wrist especially well so score two for Olympus and one for Chums. A side note here – I have an average man's size hands whereas my wife has long slender hands. The Olympus slid right off of her hand even when it was cinched up so the Chums might actually work better for her. The Olympus and the Chums both seemed more buoyant than the Vivatar. The Vivatar failed the bathtub test – filling my bathtub to the top and dropping the strap into the water attached to the Nikon (it's a Jacuzzi tub so it's fairly deep). The Nikon was actually resting on the bottom of the tub with the Vivatar whereas it was not touching with the other two straps. The Vivatar was holding up one end of the camera so I suspect in deeper waters it would keep the camera floating but I don't know that for sure. Score one apiece for the Olympus and the Chums. One final observation – and this one is a little subjective. The Olympus just seemed better constructed with more durable parts and connections than the other two. Score one point for Olympus. Final score => Vivatar – 1 point, Olympus – 6 points, Chums – 3 points. Hope this is helpful.

That is likely, as it is not quite small enough for a small hand and wrist.

Great product, item as described, only negative is, if you have small wrists you can not adjust it for a tighter fit. A little loose but still functional. Other than that, it does float in water when need be....

Comments about Floating Wrist Strap (White/ Blue):

We do a lot of snorkeling and have several cameras. This type of float is essential so equipment is not lost. This was very low-priced through B&H, I suppose, because it's an odd color - not a typical high-visibility neon color. The high-contrast stripes, though, make it very visible against the clear tropical waters or even in the darker waters of the Jersey shore.

Comments about Floating Wrist Strap (White/ Blue):

I was looking for a small (but not so small that it wouldn't float!) wrist strap for my new Olympus TG-4. This has worked out perfectly. It is about as small as it could be and still provide generous flotation in rough water. It has a sturdy clip that lets you put it on the camera when necessary. It holds firmly, and is no trouble to release, but just hard enough that it can't come off accidentally. It costs less than a quarter of what bulkier straps do. For the Olympus TG series it's just the thing!

ive seen smaller floating straps. This is not one of them. I'm not sure if the smaller straps would keep a camera afloat or not, but they fit my wrist. This would slip right off. The camera might bob to the surface, but I would still lose it in the surf, off a boat or anywhere.

Comments about Floating Wrist Strap (Orange):

I took this floating wrist strap on my new Olympus Tough on a 2 week small ship trip, and found it comfortable and useful. I could take the camera outside on slippery decks and feel secure I would not loose the camera. The bright orange helped me find the camera as I tend to leave things lying around. The floating nature of the strap is useful around water. I am now taking it along on a canoe trip in the Philippine Islands. A useful travel item.

This strap does its job, but its a little bulky. Most waterproof cameras are small and light, so it seems like a thinner wrist strap would serve just as well.

We put this on our Olympus Camera and took it to the Keys. Worked great and it's big enough you can put it around your wrist.
